I can't believe the yanks are hyping up Stevens to beat GGG... all because Stevens knocked out a tomato can like Saul Roman in 1 round...

    Stevens is ****.

I can't believe yanks and euros alike are hyping up GG..... a 31 y/o fighter who's biggest win is the dreaded Mathew Macklin.

If Stevens is shi.t then he's no different the rest of Golovkin's opponents.

7 years as a pro and he's yet to take a step foreward.

You clearly never saw that fight, Curtis was handling Primera (a good
solid chin vet with power and more experience) and got took into the
deep water. He avenged that loss his next fight. How many guys avenge
a loss let alone the very next fight.

Curtis is a big underdog against Golovkin but he's a live one.

    Good points.

For all they know GG might look like crap at 168.

Curtis Stevens doesn't belong in the same arena with GGG.

I also don't understand why Stevens is a legit opponent in anyone's eyes. Macklin, Barker even Andy Lee would toy with and beat down Curtis.

just hate when people look at records only and have never
seen the fights. If its a fight I haven't seen yet I'll defer my
comment and go watch the guy (I'm looking for more Pulev fights
right now before I comment on him vs Thompson). Guys need
to quit acting like they know when they don't. Primera was a
solid guy, no shame with Curtis losing that, he came back and
avenged it. i think Golovkin is solid but I've seen a few of his
fights, I'm not ready to crown him king yet.

Well, he ain't really, is he? But 'cos he got a few highlight reel early KOs a lot a people are suddenly high on him. That, and the fact that Golovkin's struggling to find an opponent for Nov makes the fight desirable.

The idea that Stevens is seen to have at least a 'punchers chance' at a win adds something too. A lotta people still perceive GGG as just a big hitter rather than a very skilled boxer who also happens to punch hard - and may see this as a match-up between 2 punchers.

Stevens doesn't deserve to be in the same time zone as GGG.

Stevens has a glass jaw, and it's only a matter of time before he gets his chin checked, again. :nod

Golovkin would DESTROY him. Probably within a round.

I'm hoping Stevens' entrance is similar to the one when he fought Primera. Would be hilarious to see him walk into the ring again like a thuggin' rapper with 9 gangsters on welfare only to get sparked.

Yeahhhh. I agree with the logic that he should be given a shot if no one else is available. Just a shame that we can't get something better.

Quillin doesn't have an opponent yet but just refuses to try and get this done. Sturm will never leave Germany. And everyone else seems to be tied up. I would like to see Geale v GGG soon.
