I can see the bit in red.

I DON'T KNOW what Roy believed, it was just my OPINION.

I said "I think.." at the start of that sentence.

So, in my personal opinion, I think that Roy believed that.

But I don't know for a fact, it's only my assumption.

If I put, either I think, or I believe, or in my opinion at the start of a sentence, then I'm not trying to pass anything off as a fact.

But I told you last week that Roy had his sights set on Hill while he was preparing for Griffin.

I know for a FACT what his intentions were, because he made it public knowledge when he gave an interview.

In that instance, I didn't have to say "I think Roy wanted Hill after Griffin" because I know for a FACT that he did.

Honest of you to own up, but the point is that even when facts are put to you, you still try and argue with your beliefs when facts get presented to you.
Assumptions are not a good point to argue with when facts/links and video proof gets presented.
Still either way, well done and enough said on the subject. Hope you are well

I'm good, and I love these debates. I know sometimes they get a little heated, but I don't mean anything by it, I just get a little carried away.

I can appreciate what you're saying.

But if I put, I think, then I'm obviously not stating it as a fact, even If I believe it myself to be 100%

I know a lot about Roy, just because I've gone out of my way to find info on him over the years.

From now on, If I say something and you want to question it, then I'll tell you why I've said what I have, and I'll show you a link if possible.

    Thanks! :good

I find it very odd his father would say something like that. This is Boxing people are going to be power punchers. Why is it OK for Jones to not fight someone simply because his father said he "punched too hard"......

Very odd and it jives with what some people have said in the past that when in training camp with Roy they were not allowed to punch him in the head in sparring. Very very strange.

Remember Virgil was ringside at Jones-Griffin 1? It was obvious a clash was brewing between Hill and Jones.. But DM got to him first due to the DQ and Jones having to fight Griffin again.:yep

Think it was a possiblity Jones was looking past Griffin a bit in the first fight?:think

No. You are either blind, a genuine full-******, or are just trolling like a little girl due to being butthurt over being fukked so hard in this thread. Either way, I'll humor you just to humiliate you even more.

As I've already spelled out for you clueless clowns, the result of Jones-Griffin had no bearing whatsoever on Hill or DM's career. Hill vs DM was already signed and happening no matter what.

Get it through your thick skulls you clueless apologist revisionist fanboy ******s - the only thing Jones "blew" that night against Griffin was his undefeated record and paper wbc strap (though he may well have also blew Derrick Gainer at his post fight party).

Waffling laughing stock Loudon hopelessly tries to rewrite history and instead turn it into what he pretends to think but actually hoped what happened in his imaginary fanboy world - only everyone can see through his bull****.

"Mind Reader" and his boyfriend "Loudon" clowned like chumps yet again :deal. No credibility. No one takes them seriously. Their fanboy delusions and fabricated pitiful excuses for Jones' ducks & cherry picking are being methodically destroyed one by one. One defeat after another .

I find it very odd too.

Because Roy Snr trained him from 7 years old, and according to Roy, he used to beat him with a pipe and tie one hand behind his back while sparring etc.

He turned Roy into a fighting machine, but then was reluctant to let him loose.

Roy could have signed with Manny at the Kronk, but he stayed loyal to his Dad. His career could have turned out completely different.

If you watch the Beyond the Glory documentary, and look at who Roy was fighting, you can see exactly how the tension built up between them. Roy wasn't reluctant. Roy wanted the fights, but Big Roy kept him wrapped in cotton wool.

When they finally split, they didn't speak properly for almost 6 years.

It shouldn't be ok, I agree with you. But you have to understand the relationship they had. Roy was only in his early 20's, and Big Roy had controlled him his entire life.

Yes, he possibly underestimated Griffin. Griffin was a good fighter. But Roy had clear intentions to fight Hill afterwards.

    Ha!

    Here we go again!

Who has said that the Virgil Hill fight was set in stone??

    NOBODY!

What I said was, Roy had intentions to fight Hill afterwards.

Roy said that in Jan of 97, in his camp for Griffin.

Hill was originally scheduled to fight DM in April of 97, but it was pushed back.

At the time that Roy made those comments, I can't be certain if the Hill and DM fight had been signed or not.

But it doesn't really matter does it?

Roy didn't have psychic powers did he?

He didn't know in Jan, that their fight would get pushed back, and he can't possibly have known that DM was going to beat him for certain.

This has all stemmed from Eubank wanting to fight Roy in 97.

I originally said, that a WBC title fight against Griffin, and then a POTENTIAL fight with Hill, was more important.

A Potential fight to unify the division was a bigger/better fight than a Eubank fight, who was coming off of two losses to Collins who wasn't that great.

Don't forget how he and his boyfriend Loudon, always like to try to take the heat off any criticism of their fanboy hero by slating Joe Calzaghe, even when he is nothing to do with it. As for instance in a thread asking how do people feel about Jones.

Just for the record didn't Joe stand right in front of Jones, and ridicule him, because like most of us he knew Jones was a one trick pony who had fvck all except reflexes? Since long gone.

Joe being 36 at the time to Jones 39.:lol::lol:

I just love watching his apologist fanboys wriggle and squirm.

What did you mean by this statement Joe. Boxer? Does this mean Calzaghe's claim to the Ring LHW belt had no credibility?:think

    You're are a complete joke!

    Who's mentioning Joe here? YOU!

Yes, Joe did stand in front of him and ridicule him.

So how the **** did that make him look?

He ridiculed a guy, after he'd said the following:

    When Roy was peak -

"I'm not chasing Roy Jones, I don't want tough fights."

"I know what my capabilities are, and I'd want the crown jewels to fight him." (even though NOBODY was going to give him them, because he was a nobody outside of Europe at the time)

"I have a fear of flying."

When Roy was past his best -

"Roy's no longer great, and I'd be disappointed if he was to be my last fight."

"Roy's not the same anymore, and a fight between us would now be pointless."

So to summarise, Joe didn't want to fly to the States to fight Roy, when he was prime.

But when he'd been knocked out twice, was nearly 40, and he was safe to fight, he had no problem going to the airport.

It's a ****ing joke, just like you!

He ridiculed a guy, after saying he was shot, and it would be pointless.

What does that say about his character?

Funny how he didn't want the crown jewels to fight him in 2008, like he did in 2002?

    Mmm, how strange?

    Pathetic!
