Haven't read this thread but the size , power and speed of Wilder is worrying. Speed in bunches is how I think Rock can be beaten.
He is still an unknown quantity though , so you can't pick either man with confidence.

A de facto win isn't anything to brag about. Can you make a correction on Mosleys wiki page? I saw you made one on O Sullivains before.

Wilders speed is relevant against todays artificially bulkd up heavyweights. There is nothing to say how he gets on against faster, more athletic, organic heavyweight athletes of ATG standing.

This match up is between fighters from separate worlds. One has zero credibility at ATG level and has yet to fight the elite of his own era, the otther cleaned out an entire era and was a model champion.

I don't go by statistics. I go by what I see before me and Wilder is a hard fight for any man the size of Rocky given his speed and power...Im the last guy to claim size matters , but its the speed and fast aggressive start that makes me ponder.

I like wilders speed. It is refreshing, but how is his pace? how is his durability? How is his accuracy against elite fighters? Do we know yet if his punch is transferable against even elite fighters of his own time?

Lets give the kid a break. Wilder is not yet ready for such a comparison.

So far Deontay Wilder is about as proven as Gene Wilder against ATG fighters.

Exactly, he is still an unknown quantity. I don't know enough about him yet to pick him against an ATG.

    That is just the point.

Marciano is not an unknown quantity, he dominated an era.

Wilder is an unknown quantity, and then some!

    Get the point?

The question is not whether he could beat Marciano, it is whether he could beat Marciano's contenders!

Now I have heard it all..."organic heavyweights"

I will now only defend free range, locally harvested, humanely raised heavyweights.

Wilder's got great potential but it's a little early to be matching him up with the greats of the ring.

    What next..........Anthony Joshua v Muhammad Ali ?

Why do they have weight classes than

Reading through this thread is hilarious. So deluded.

And this is coming from a guy who has Marciano in the top 3.

    To make heavyweights bigger!

The existence of "cruiserweight" means heavyweights need to be EVEN bigger to bypass cruiserweight.
