being undisputed means that no one else has a legitimate claim to the title. vitali holds the wbc belt and hasn't lost a fight in a decade (ok, i know he took 4 years off). as long as they both hold belts, neither one of them are undisputed. it's impossible. hopefully vitali retires in the next couple years and wlad can then win all the belts. it will be nice to truly have the first undisputed heavyweight champ since lennox.

Wlad isnt undisputed at all. Early vitali beats early wlad and late wlad beats late vitali.

Hopefully vitali retires soon and Wlad gets sparked when he fights someone tall and mobile.

 

Don't use the word 'undisputed'. It legitimises the idea that there can be more than one world champion. There's only one world, there can only be one world champion. If a boxer has a 'belt' but isn't the champion he's only a paper titlist. It's depressing to read that so many fans here accept that collecting three or even four corrupt sanctioning body belts should be a criteria to become a true champion. Promoters and sanctioning bodies have only gotten away with perpetuating that myth for decades because it's been accepted by fans and media! The two best fighters in a division need to fight in the ring to crown a champion, end of discussion (and this is why the TBRB champions should be acknowledged and the Ring championship should be ignored).

If the Klitschkos can't fight each other neither can call himself a champion, and the heavyweight division unfortunately won't have a champion till both retire. Why can't they fight each other anyway? Boxers who were friends haven't had qualms about fighting before, and hey I'd relish the chance to get paid to fight my brother. If they don't because they're worried of the other's safety they're hypocritical to box at all. They need to get in the ring with each other, compete their best, and let the world see who the better fighter and true heavyweight champion is. It would be the most prestigious heavyweight fight in the last decade, and if it doesn't happen history needs to put a huge asterisk on both of their shameful records.

So when a top boxer refuses to fight the bum of a mandatory challenger that one of those 'popular' organisations require him to fight and instead gives up their title to fight a true top opponent, there is therefore a 'dispute' to his championship status?

 

Wlad would beat every version from Vitali with Emanuel Steward in his corner (and with the things he learned from Manny). Very sad he isn´t in Wlad´s corner any more.
