While I believe that it's high-quality glass (i.e. not the hairline fractured factory reject material certain staples of the glass jaw rankings sport), it's shaky all the same. Cleverly has been as coddled as any 'world champion' in boxing history, and tonight's obliteration has given us a strong hint as to why.

Of course, we already have people insisting that NO-ONE could have possibly taken such shots without folding.

I don't see this as a chin problem, I see this all about the power of Kovalev

I think cleverly borrowed khans chin and legs tonight, because that was a hell of a khan impersonation.

    Hardly glass.
Lack of tactics and gameplay yes, glass chin no, he took some good shots.
If I were his trainer I'd be more concerned about him showboating and keeping his hands low while he's being hit and in trouble, when he should be clenching, moving, jabbing and using his reach advantage.
    He looked tactically clueless.

Look at all these glass jaw deniers. Cleverly doesn't have a glass jaw because Kolev is just so damn powerful.

If he had a granite chin, he wouldn't have been tossed around like a ragdoll from the start. Fighters with granite chins that still get KO'd show that they have granite chins, because they absorb the punishment all the way to the end, even if it's a KO.

    Tyson had a granite chin.

Arthur Abraham had a granite chin.

Marco Antonio Barrera had a granite chin.

Nathan Clevery has a.....glass jaw.

constantly proclaiming after every fight that ends in ko that the loser has a glass chin is obnoxiously stupid. by that logic there are no superior ko punchers.

Cleverly's shown many times in earlier fights that he can take a punch. His defence is weak though and he doesn't have the punch power to be a genuine world level boxer. Take poor defence and lack of a powerful punch against somebody like Kovalev, and you've got a recipe for disaster.

More so a combination of poor game plan + kovalev's power than an issue with Clev's chin
