Saying the eastern Europeans or Slavics are coming would be more appropriate, but at the end of the day boxing is an individual sport and the praise (or criticism) should go to the boxer, not his country.

The OP should have said the former Soviet block (instead of Russia) b/c that includes many nationalities, although most of these ppl are Caucasians or as in GGGs case he is nationally Russian-Korean and racially Caucasian-Asian.
