This is like Brits taking credit for all the American fighters. What's really disturbing isn't that Burt's turned around on nationalities, it's that ESPgatdamnN referred to Klitschko as "the Russian champion" on FNF a couple weeks ago. This also gives a great indication of their boxing journalism in general. It's wank.

 

When I spoke with Vitali in person he spoke perfect Russian. While both Klitschko brothers are Ukranian they are also very proud of their Russian roots growing up in Russia's original capital of Kiev.

Some interesting posts in this thread. Regarding the Klitschko Brothers Vitali was born in what is now Kyrgyzstan Wlad was born in Kazakhstan. The father was in the Russian Military. Their mother is from Russia I believe. They fight out of Ukraine. So in reality what is the right answer if you factor all this in? :think

And as someone said earlier for a country as obscure as Kazakhstan they sure are making a name for themselves in the Boxing World. Ukraine also.

Boxing is a global sport and always has been. Those on here that are upset at the success the former Soviet Satellite States are having might as well quit watching the sport as there are more on the way.

We have different values then. I believe your pay check depends on the tickets sold. And if we compare the GGG's and Broner's TV number for their last fights it's clear u don't have to act like ass to be a draw. And I'm sure GGG will be paid what he deserves very soon.

I am going to tell you something Emmanuel Stewrd once said. He said where the Klitschko's grew up made the slums of Detroit look like a Country Club. He said American Ghettos are a Paradise compared to where many of these European fighters grew up. He also said American Heavyweights are lazy and a a dying breed for the reasons above. Is there anything wrong with what he said?
