Martinez definately has speed, mobility, power & a southpaw stance.

Martinez has excellent rythm, that would trouble Mayweather a lot.

Martinez has had to take time off when he's had bigger fighters putting constant pressure on him, Floyd would not/could not do that, Martinez foot movement is good enough for him to get in and get out.

If he stood and tried to pot shot with Floyd he'd lose

But if he fought with a high rythm, similar to Pacman he'd KO Floyd.

Also he'd land the left hand regularly.
Its a shame it didnt happen.

Had he moved up to 160 he'd have a loss. I would have given Sergio a decent shot to beat him even at 154 assuming Sergio could actually make the weight and not be drained to ****. At 147 I'm sure a pre-Margarito Cotto would have given him a decent challenge, but I wouldn't pick him or Williams or Pacquiao to beat him, and definitely not Margarito.

the only fights i could have seen being competitive (and realistic) were :
    1) martinez (154, maybe catchweight like canelo)
    2) pacman
    3) the punisher

all of these (def. the last) will probably never be seen though

Paul wasn't really looking to fight Floyd, and never really pressed the issue.

It was Margarito and Cotto who he was begging to fight. And it was Bob Arum who stood in the way. It was because of him basically getting shut out of WW that firced him to move up where he wasn't comfortable.

People like to bring up Petey when it comes to Floyd, but forget about what really happened with Margo, Cotto, Shane, and others.

Anybody would include great risks like MW Sergio Martinez, who i would pick. Paul Williams during his best run, who I would pick. I also have always picked Pacquaio over Floyd.

There is 3 that I would favor. Would they be losses? At least one would.

He almost dropped an L to Castillo in their first outing, I see no reason why someone else couldn't edge him in a decision if he routinely fought elite opposition.

Williams would have been a stylistic nightmare for Money . Williams would win via shutout or late Stoppage . His activity would be just too much/overwhelming for Floyd .

There's nothing Floyd can do to stop Williams work rate , he can't keep Williams off of him . It's a guaranteed loss .

Anyone who thinks, Williams beats Floyd is an idiot. If you think he stops Floyd's you're an even bigger idiot.

And I don't understand why people keep bringing up the Castillo fight, as if 1)Floyd wasn't injured 2) Floyd didn't beat again in a rematch 3) Floyd didn't stroner, more intelligent, and more skilled since that fight. It was only 11 years go..smh.

Paul would have beaten him, like everyone before has so graciously stated.

Paul is my boy... and I wanted this fight for him because of the recognition and the payday. But there is no guarantee Paul would have beaten him.

Paul had a lot of advantages going for him in this fight. He had the size, strength, workrate, southpaw, stamina, and most of all chin. Floyd had a speed advantage, definitely defense, and ring generalship.

We all know Paul would get hit, and often. We all know Floyd would neutralize his work rate at least slightly. But the thing that separates Paul from all of Floyd's other opponents is that he only knows one speed, and that's full speed ahead. He absolutely would not have been discouraged by Floyd's counters no more than he was against Martinez(1) or Lara. He would have had the stamina to chase Floyd all fcukin night, and rain down punches from start to finish (ala Winky Wright fight)... Floyd hits harder than people give him credit, and certainly hard enough to sting Paul and stop him in his tracks... But would it be enough?

It would have been an interesting fight for sure, unlike any of Floyd's previous fights. But even I can't sit here and just declare that Paul would have definitely beat him. I would like to think so, and I would have been right there in the front rows screaming and yelling my head off... But we'll never really know.

What I do know is that Margarito, Cotto, and Shane are more shameless duckers than Floyd when it comes to PW. That's a fact.

    Paul dominated winky and marg

Had the perfect style and called out floyd for years

Only a total noob ***** thinks floyd had a chnace

PAC would have kod floyd within 5 rounds

    Martinez would destroyed floyd

This is all moot anyway since floyd lost the first Castillo match by a huge margin
    And barely won the rematch

Williams pacquiao would have been a better fight
