50 years from now a young boxing researcher, will see a record indicating invincibility, a win against ATG JMM & 20 WBA title defenses.

He will not be accused of being a troll to claim that 50-0 Chris John, 20 WBA title defenses make him the greatest Featherweight of all time. (Ducked by Morales, MAB, Hamed, Pacman, Mares & a long list of fighters who passed by his division without taking the risk of fighting him)

If you have issues or bad feeling about Chris John being the Greatest Feather of all time, you need to contact your favorite promoter to make sure he gets the hardest 2 fights possible before he hits 50-0 and sails into the sunset :hi:

Lets leave the emotional bias aside, we are talking hard numbers. The numbers indicate that nobody wanted a piece of Chris John, more than likely he has an Iron Chin...Otherwise punchers would have targeted him to get him out of there.

Chris John opposition is equal or better than Salvador Sanchez & Pedroza, sorry I don't buy into the hype...I see #s

Chris John opponents combined record: (800

    - 190

Salvador Sanchez opponents combined record: (690

Eusebio Pedroza opponents combined record: (870

    - 200

    )

They have similar combined opponents stats, except Chris John NEVER EVER LOST :good

And in two fight he will break Pedroza 19 defenses record of defending the exact same WBA title

If Chris John goes out on a joy ride chasing sultry eyed girls in the streets of Jakarta, gets into a fatal accident, he will be an ATG + Boxing super natural legend

50 years from now most current boxing statistics will have been rendered virtually meaningless. Most records for title defences will have been broken, and dozens more fighters will have retired undefeated. It's the inevitable consequence of more titles, fewer fights and the greater obsession with unbeaten records.

Consider how many title defence records have been set since the beginning of the alphabet age, and how many more fighters have retired unbeaten in the last 20 years compared to the previous 100.

John will be judged like all fighters on the fighters he beat and his performances in the ring. The numbers will be far less significant than you seem to think.

Chris John should make the HOF(/ shrugs possible bias) some day but no he's no ATG. If you fight at small venues all your life and never hit the big show against opposition the fans demand your accomplishments can't be viewed as highly as those who dared to be great, even if they failed.

I think that had Chris fought in the US more he would had several loses on his record by now. As has been mentioned in this thread if he wants to seal the deal and put his stamp in history his last two fights should be here in the US and against Donaire and Rigondeaux. This would at least in my mind grant him ATG recognition (should he win these), though not perhaps not the absolute top amongst the divisions best in history.

Chris John is a bona fide HOF'er and top 10 Featherweight.

The JMM victory was no gift. It was a fair outcome.
