He must be a lot better than we think as his mental state is ****ing horrendous.

26 years old and has such a defeatist attitude.

 

He shouldnt retire because Kovalev is a beast and is gonna go on to do big things
Maybe if Kovalev stopped someone like Hopkins it would ease Cleverly abit

 

Cleverly was never a world class operator but he was so poorly managed after he someone got his hands on a belt.

But the biggest problem is he seems to have believed all the hype and that he was the real deal. this fight seems to be a massive wake up call and he was swung in the other direction.

"he beat me... at least I know what I am now.."

 

How could he? Vince is hardly world renowned for his technical prowess now is he?

 

It's like when Rocky gets battered by Clubber Lang. He realises all the people before Lang were picked for him.

He needs to get a new trainer and get his mojo back. If he can reach the level he has done with the training he has had this far, there still a lot of potential to be realised.

Cleverly is living in la la land, he said he was being avoided by everyone else and had to fight Kovalev, ye right why would a Bhop or Dawson waste their time fighting an unproven unknown fighter lol

 

God forbid you might actually have to take the hardest fights to be regarded as a real champion. What a deluded tosser Clev really is.

 

I think he is a joke if im honest. He loses his world title at the age of 26 and now he wants to retire. This is pathetic and just shows how much of the champion he never is. He thought he was the real deal got beat by the better man if he wants to be the best why does he not come back bigger and stronger but he is not the champion Wales, ***** and him and his team claimed he was.

 

Poor guy can't win, the amount of times people call for a retirement after one loss and then finally a fighter contemplates packing it in when he's handed that loss and he's absolutely roasted for it...

 

Your right, if he thinks hes found his level and he can do no more then who is anyone on here to demand he continues!

 

Exactly, I was never a big clev fan but if he's decided he's achieved all he wanted to in boxing (which is more than most people ever will) and wants to do something with his maths degree rather than get punched in the face then all the best to him. Most of the people berating him weren't fans of his anyway don't know why they are so angry about him wanting to retire. Good luck to him I say.
