Hopkins: Congrats Kovalev, You Took The Easy/Safe Road

Just a side note, man the media has changed. Everything is so casual now. Here's a guy conducting an interview in a vest, baseball cap, covered in tattoos and sporting a pretty heavy accent, never mind the fact he didn't know Wales isn't IN England.

 

To Pascal's credit he did manage to drop Hopkns but yeah Kovalev will get schooled by Hopkins ..Dawson had the tools to reign too bad he didn't have the mentality to do so !

 

i root for fighters based on their character, not their country. i'm a fan of provodnikov, bradley, kovalev, andre ward, berto, pacquiao and nonito donaire. i don't root for some fighters because they're foreign, i'm behind them because they're not loud and obnoxious like mayweather, broner or hopkins. froch is a loudmouth too. why should i be a fan of somebody with no character as a person because they're from the same country as me?

Hopkins made a contradictory statement and I called him on it. I don't even think it was that serious. Yet, because he's from the U.S., it's like you considered that the ultimate betrayal and got your panties in a bunch because of it. Whatever. Like I said, it's not that serious.

 

i don't care how a person acts in or out of the ring, if the fighters a beast, the fighters a beast that's all there is to it. tyson, ali, leonard, duran, chavez, whitaker, delahoya etc etc all had their issues but they are still some of my favorites. mayweather may be great but i cant stand his style and how he has ducked time and time again. the klitshkos are annoying as hell and fight like punch and judy puppets. i could care less about their character.

He knows fight didn't happen and that's more of his than kovalev's fault . He can't fight volume fighters and claslappy proved it. All he can do is whine , run , hug , headbutt, , he couldn't do it against Dawson , so he quit. Kovalev would run over this old fool.

 

To Hopkins credit both of those fights were entertaining .

And I hear you with Dawson ,I really thought he was going to shake the con webs off against Stevenson them Bam look what happens ..That so frustrating to see a fighter with such ability just lose like he did ..

 

I did. My point was that if Hopkins really wants that fight (as opposed to having to fight Kovalev at some point, cause he's mandatory), there's a lot he can do to make it actually happen. I am not sure he really wants to fight Kovalev and I don't think he can win.
