Shane Mosley Said He'll Fight Five More Years

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by TheMikeLake, Aug 22, 2013.

  1. We've been saying that about Holyfield for how long ? Man the way he fought against James Toney was bad enough to bring a tear to your eye, the ****er still fought on.

Agreed and I'm sure he would have but sadly there's a prostitute he needs to feed.

Yeah it was, Toney tore into his ass something terrible...... this is not how I hoped Shane would go out. Christ, he was one of the best lightweights of the last 30 years. Prime Mosley was PHENOMENAL. But another 5 years of boxing? Really? He's gonna have to lower the level of opposition even more.

Idiot. Getting the W over Cano was the worst possible outcome. He probably believes he can go another five years now. :-(

Say what you will about Jin, she did have Shane's best interests at heart when managing him. She thought he should have called it quits after Margarito, and reluctantly agreed to let him glove up maybe once or twice more but cautioned strongly not to stretch it beyond that... (if she was the evil gold-digger some make her out to be since the acrimonious divorce, wouldn't she have egged her meal ticket on to his detriment?)

This ditz Bella ain't telling him squat that he needs to hear.

Why will Shane keep fighting? Jin Mosley. Obviously, most fighters struggle to walk away even close to the right time but in this case it might very well be out of necessity.

He'd probably like to win another world title so he can actually hold onto the belt.

    Stop blaming her.

She told him to get out while the getting was good, years ago.

There was no prenuptial, she got the usual half of his assets from their period of marriage. Alimony is 3%. Really he doesn't have it that bad, especially if you are willing to look past the happy chipmunk face shown for the cameras and confess that you don't know the details of their life together or acknowledge that maybe he really was a shitty husband and father who brought consequences on himself. :good

  9. He's fighting Mundane so he must be taking your advice.

    :yep

At present Mundine is more of a tumble downhill than a mere "step" from Cano.

Maybe he was, maybe she's a ****. Either way, losing his championship belts is messed up.

Plus, boxer's are a little different. If he no longer has enough money to live out his days without working again, he's probably going to have to put himself at great physical risk to keep earning money. Not saying that's his ex's fault but it still doesn't seem fair.

Foolish pride is making him compete, not financial need.
