I'm not a man of prayer but in life, we all don't want the world to end, we all want to live forever. I think Tommy played the moment of finding he was positive over and over and over in his head. Causing him to mentally break.

To have a huge status shift like that, can easily tear someone apart.

    Sorry Tommy.

Most of us knew he had HIV/AIDS and was not sick from 'spider bites' and all the other excuses on here.

    May Tommy find peace.

He never failed to entertain me during his best years.

This will have to go down as foremost among the strangest and most drawn out public cases of denial or self-delusion.

Shame on the backwater palookas who indulged the poor guy with a license several years back.

Damn. Sad. I'm sorry this is the case. It was clearly obvious that he had AIDS.

Such a tragic story. It does indeed look like he's on his last legs.

Wow. I was a big Tommy fan back in the 90s. It is just so sad to see what has happened to him and his life.

I always wondered if his denial was just for the outside world or that he actually believed it himself.
    Sad story.

Well if you're telling people with a straight face that you can teleport...

He was either severely delusional or the world's best-ever troll.

At least this sad saga is approaching closure. Sad situation all together,
but lot of lessons to be learned.

The feature on ESPN basically confirms all of the rumors we have all heard the past year and a half.

Apparently Trish has put her own article out over on MMA dirt that basically refutes the ESPN piece, claiming avidly that Tommy is going to be fine and that his bad health is the result of medical mal-practice, a spider bite, and supposedly a disease that is so rare it strikes only one out of like 100 million people each year. In her article she states Tommy died in the hospital three times, one of the times the nurse refused to help him, leading to Trish having to scream to Tommy to breathe again, and lo and behold his heart started beating again and he started breathing.

My gut says the ESPN piece is the real deal. I took several things from it, and thought back to rumors that have been here about Tommy over the past year. Here's how the article confirms all of the rumors that we all heard.

#1) Tommy got ab and pec implants : according to his mother he did this so that nobody would think he looked weak or sick. According to her, Tommy hated people thinking he was weak. She also said that the implants did get infected and they had to be removed. Trish has posted photos of this on her article on mmadirt.

#2) Tommy hasn't seen his mother in over a year. This confirms the rumors that Trish was preventing Tommy from seeing his own family.

#3) Tommy has been bedridden and unable to speak for over one year. Tom Virgets said the same thing last summer, that when he saw Tommy, he had been put on a feeding tube, unable to speak and down to about 130-150 pounds.

#4) Tommy is being kept alive through un-natural means, his body is clinically dead. The rumor on here was that Trish was keeping Tommy alive long enough for her to gain US citizenship, thereby guaranteeing that she can keep getting his disability checks after he dies. Per Tommy's mother, he is on a ventilator, unconscious, with a feeding tube which is keeping his body alive.

You know, when Tommy got busted in 2011 for Meth, if he would have only been sentenced to jail, he would still be fine right now, because as far as I know, the jail forces you to take your medicine, so Tommy would have to take the HIV medicine.

I still can't believe he managed to win three fights, all by KO, and all the while he was devastatingly sick even though he may not have looked it.
