Good point. That's how boxing works. How 180 an image can be just on who you fight. Had Donaire fought Mares and sparked him early, the hype would have been off the charts. That's why its never too wise to invest so much stock into an opinion of a fighter based on one or two fights.

if he did not fight rigo he would have fought and beaten mares, and most likely gonzales hed be a shoe in on everyones top5 p4p and id prob have him at 4 or maybe 3
I dont think Nonito could ever do what Gonzales just did to Marez. Not to say that Marez could not KO mares but i am gonna say that Nonito doesn´t throw a left hook like Gonzales does. At FW Donaire´s power will diminish a little bit as it has at 122 and he definitely would not be so fast. FWY, After Mres beat(a draw in my eyes) Moreno i thought he might beat Donaire if they ever fought but now i don´t see it. Donaire would struggle with Mares. But Ginzales would alway find a way to end it early.
Donaire did not train for Rigo. He was not interested in the fight and paid for it. He deserved to lose. I think a rematch would be very interesting.............
