What Tony says about him not being as strong later on remains to be seen.I see his own fight against Stevenson as a 50 50 fight.Just hope he's at his best. If,as I hope,he wins then maybe well find out about Kovalev. The manner of his win over Nathan suggests to me he is extremely dangerous, though.Certainly,as Farmboxer says,no hype job,IMO.Obviously extremely heavy handed. As for weaknesses,I hope he's got some and they can be exploited.Hopefully by Tony.Nathan won't fight him again, whatever he decides to do.Im sure of that.

That's a question about his stamina, but he might be one of the must skilled LWH around right now. The way he just destroyed Nathan was just insane, he both have great boxing skills and punches very hard, in my opinion he is Top 3 right now.

Tony, Did the Cleverly/Kovalev fight reaffirm your decison to move to Matchroom and make you think what could have happened to you had you stayed with FW?

I mean FW must take a lot of the blame for ruining the career of many a boxer. - aweful title defences where the boxer learns nothing, doesnt test himself but make the promoter a few quid - talk about use and abuse!

I know the legal aspects will probably restrict you from saying so but you must be glad Matchroom have been able to match you with high level and frequent fights to get you to where you are now!

Since you fought Cleverly he's got worse and probably took his foot off the gas in training because the opponents were so poor.

If Cleverly/Bellew fight was made tomorrow I think cleverly would be the big underdog, which highlights Tony's improvment and Nathans "stagnation".

    Thoughts?

Tony would spar with a HW? James Stabler is the next big thing. Beats up Fury and Del boy in sparring. Hes not got his licence because hes just come out of jail. But when he gets his licence he go the old fashioned way. English, British, Euro then world. A few people be hurt as well he hits that hard.

Despite his comments, Bellew will never be willing to step into the ring with Sergey.

I hate it when boxers mouth off and then avoid the people they talk about.

To be fair he's not exactly known for avoiding fights is he? I think if he won the belt and the money was right for a unification you prob would see that fight happen. Whether or not eddie would want him in there is another matter.

Let me just tell you straight up, I'll will fight any f****r , i mean ANYONE! I was trying to become Chad Dawson's mandatory and stylistically it couldn't of been a worse match up for me but cos he was regarded as the best I targeted him.. Don't think I'm just saying it for the sake of it cos that just ain't me.. Ill fight Kovalev in the middle of Moscow! I hope that puts you straight now..:good

Tony gets a lot of stick on here and some of it maybe warranted on the back of some shady performances but to label him a ducker is ridiculous. He seems like the type of guy that would fight anyone anywhere anytime.Ive got a feeling Sergei Kovalev isn't going to be this unstoppable force everyone is making him out to be either he's looked impressive this far yes but what's going to happen when he has to dig deep, does he have the minerals?

    Only time will tell...

If someone is prepared to fight Cleverly with 2 days notice after losing 18lbs, especially when he didn't really have to shows Tony will fight anyone, anywhere, anytime.

    Tony's not just a boxer, he's a fighter. There's a difference!

If he's been down the Grafton in town on a Saturday night, Kovalev in Moscow would be a dream holiday!

What if no one is ever good enough to properly test him though. Say he walks through Stevenson, Dawson, ward (obviously highly unlikely) etc. but then how does he answer those questions? If he consistently destroys good fighters should that be held against him that he's never had to dig deep?

Dawson was only regarded the best by you
You've been licking his arse for years
yet he's proved to be a chinny fraud
Dawson is not in Kovalev's league
and I'd be extremely surprised if you ever took a fight with Kovalev put it that way

  14. Kovalev is a world champion world class fighter and is destroying top 10 fighters in exciting performances
Bellew is just a quite good fighter who stinks the place out
who is Tony Bellew to diss Kovalev
    Kovalev is the real deal

It doesn't surprise me in the slightest that Bellew thinks Stevenson is p4p and that he thinks Stevenson is better than Kovalev

Notice Bellews posts and tweets he always licks the arse of black fighters surely you's must have noticed, he's been licking that average Chad Dawson's arse for years, saying hes the best LH and he wouldn't fancy facing him, etc. And Bellew if your reading this I rate you as a fighter and I'e always felt you'd have a good chance of beating Dawson! it used to **** me off with your lack of confidence with regards to facing him and the way youve arse licked him for years

Apparently white man Bellew has a drop of black blood way back , even though it's INVISIBLE he clearly has some racial bias going on for the tiny drop of black blood he has SOMEWHERE APPARENTLY. It's weird.
