Why hasn't this fight been made yet? I think everyone knows that Martinez won't fight Golovkin and this is the next big fight.

Pirog has not been active for a long time due to injury. He needs a tuneup fight to see if his back is going to hold up.

There is big interest to see how Golovkin will do against a healthy Pirog, but very little interest in how he would do vs. a rusty still injured Pirog...

Do you really think Martinez wants to fight Golovkin at this point of his career?

Martinez has already said he'll fight Golovkin, he's even said how he'd beat him.

Excuse me? You think he is Mayweather? or Donaire?

    Martinez is Argentinian

Martinez ha publicly quoted that he wants to fight Golovkin, in fact he has done this several times. Once he recovers he will do a tune-up type fight before facing the best of the division

HBO wouldnt turn this fight down either, no harm done when Golovkin takes the crown and carries on the MW legacy

He had a bad back injury. Backs are tricky. Some back injuries never heal. Incidently, Pirog gave up his WBO title in order to challenge Golovkin for Golovkin's belt. He got hurt during training though and has been out of action since.

I was excited about pirog at 1st, but not anymore. He'll never be
at the level he was when he starched Jacobs. Pirog was 30 then
and is getting too old to be starting to make a run at a the top of
a division run by a monster like GGG. Pirog also leans in too much
and the long shots GGG throws would catch him frequently. The power
and precision is too much for the aging and never to be whole again
    pirog. GGG stops him IMHO.
