what should be pulev's gameplan vs wlad? pulev's strengths are imo his chin and his jab but how could he use this to his advantage? do you think he could outjab wlad? af far as i know, no one ever did but on the other hand no one ever really tried. could it play out like bruno vs lewis a fight in which bruno could establish his jab against the jabber? thoughts?
Well it was a different look with the southpaw, but just have a gander at the early going with Thompson. Pulev seemed hopelessly stuck out at the end of the right jab, and most were already declaring victory for Thompson by the 4th. ...then he adjusted. That sort of slow boil, simmering approach to lull the longer taller man into a false sense of security and then work in all sneaky-like might work - except the Wladimir 1-2 finding Pulev on the outside is needless to say a more alarming proposition than getting hit with some Thompson flick-jabs and odd lefts to the body.
I bet in the 80's nobody thought Holmes could be out jabbed , but it happened against Williams. Holmes having an ATG chin and boxing ability was able to hang in there against hard, fast shots. Those guys threw textbook , perfect jabs. Wlads jab is gone to complete ****. At the max he can only throw 2 with proper technique , after that he just paws with it. No snap and doesn't bring it straight back. Dont be fooled by Pulev's lack of jab against TT. Against orthodox Wlad he can pump his jab into his face a lot easier. Under such frustration I dont see Wlad working effectively. He'll start to panic , breath heavy and run out of gas. The only hard fough fight Wlad ever survived was against Peter and thats because Peter had a gas tank for only 4 rounds. If Wlad goes on retreat , Pulev will chase him down where Wlad got no offence , no defence and will be nothing but a sitting duck.
The only chance pulev has is to get his misses to get her tits out on national tv. Thereby distracting everyone before cracking wlad with a fire eextinguisher. Basically the chances range from 0 to minute Pulev Will basically get destroyed by wlad. Whenever he chooses to do so.
Trying to outbox him. I think Pulev has got the perseverance and determination to try at least. It will be a long, difficult, comlicated fight for both.
pulev is another tough european fighter.he has a great jab and looks to have a solid beard..that being said like povetkin his head movement isnt great and is to easy hit..i think hes another tko vs wlad..if wlad beats povetkin and pulev i would love to see povetkin vs pulev sometime in 2014
