Am I missing something ... he fought Norfolk three times, losing twice and getting a draw ... this was a career journeyman with a terrible record ( against tough opposition for sure ) and a light heavyweight ...

 

Keep in mind that his record is VERY incomplete at this time. We're still trying to find lost fights of his. In fact I just found and added one to Boxrec

 

Norfolk looks good on film.

 

I dont think anyone is going to mistake Gahee for being a better fighter than Norfolk or even a guage of how well Norfolk would have done against Dempsey. Gahee's record is incomplete but Norfolk's is as well, probably not as much as Gahee's but as it stands with less than half the fights of Norfolk Gahee has more losses and more stoppage losses.
