Darren Barker, world IBF middleweight champion, 'saw dead brother in the ring'

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/ot...ht-champion-saw-dead-brother-in-the-ring.html

“I saw Gary as clear as day. It was vivid, so vivid. He was there. I know it sounds like a movie script, but I saw my brother. He told me to get up.”

Barker made the count – just, at the count of nine – and incredibly went on to win the world IBF middleweight title on points, which he immediately dedicated to his brother, who had died in a car crash on the M1 in 2006. It was raw, and emotional, and the fulfilment of an ambition....

As Darren gathered himself on the floor in Atlantic City he found himself looking into Gary’s face. “When I talk about that moment, being on the floor, it seems as if I’m trying to make a movie script out of it or something like that, but the emotions and the thoughts that went through my head were strange. They say when you have a near-death experience your life flashes in front of you, and it was like that. That nine seconds seemed like an eternity.

“So many thoughts were racing through my head and like I said the desire to win and dedicate it to my brother was so great that all I could see was visions of him, then visions of my daughter. Really, really vivid. So much flashed in front of me, I can honestly say now I wasn’t even aware of what the referee’s count was, I had no idea I didn’t even know whether I’d made it or not, but I got up and thankfully I had a second to spare.” Barker is emotional again. “I saw my brother: 100 per cent, I could clearly see him. The force in me in that moment and the pictures in my head at that time were incredible. There he was, and yeah, basically it was him saying ‘Get up.’ you know what I mean. ‘Get up. Get up ’ He was urging me. It seems as if I’m trying to muster up something but I remember it. It makes me smile. It was that vivid and that clear that I do think he was there.

Guys these are drip fed pieces of media not a new quote everyday. You know how the media works guys.... Three interviews can give a **** journo 20 quotes to use over a month. Also, these are questions hes being asked about coz theres a public interest.

  7. Yeah it keeps him in the news and he now has a story that most hardcore fans will remember.

But Jonathan Romero had lost 3 or 4 brothers in gang warfare yet had less publicity about it.

I just would like to say as I don't spend much time here anymore that you are a total wanker who brings this site down and if you fancied a go in the ring with a ginger minge then pm me i pop in to check on news now and again and would be willing to travel to meet up with the 'great' Solaris.

Lets see whether you are a real man or just hide behind sarcastic comments on your computer.
