With regards to your first paragraph, you don't know what our tactics were so how can you make judgement?
Denis Shafikov is a better fighter than Crawford, and he has actually beaten some good fighters, but then again he doesn't have a HBO hype train behind him, Crawford has to do more than simply emulate a Kevin Mitchell performance (against a better hungrier Prescott than the bored looking one Crawford fought) to be rated higher than Ricky..please  but still, it seems that once a guy has that hypetrain behind him, people will buy it Let me put it this way, at this very moment, Terence Crawford hasn't done a damn thing even Kevin Mitchell hasn't done, and we all saw how that "50/50" fight turned out between him and Burns it seems fighters don't even have to prove themselves these days, Ricky has beaten 3 top ten fighters in his last 4 title defences, and is about to fight a 4th ...Terence Crawford has not fought anybody CLOSE to the top ten Now you might say "well neither had Gonzalez"...yeah, EXACTLY, and look what happened, he quit on his stool and it now looks like he is RETIRING FROM THE SPORT FOR GOOD, and they say Burns didn't take his heart.. You need more than just skill to be rated higher than somebody, Terence Crawford might fold like a deckchair in a hard fight, or if he takes a hard one on the chin, but we don't know, because he hasn't had one yet...LUDICROUS to say you rank him above Burns
No the tactics in those fights were absolutely perfect and that is credit to you for coming up with those gameplans. My point was your jumping on people for saying they thought the tactics in that particular fight were wrong, which I personally feel is a fair assessment. Fair play if you don't care what any of us think but you've got to remember this is a boxing forum and as Ricky is a British world champ he is going to get discussed, and contrary to what you may believe lots of us do know a bit about what we're talking about as we are die hard boxing fans and love the sport :good
except they say Gonzalez hasn't been in the gym and may retire from the sport for good since his "injury" loss to Ricky More like a bad wakeup call that you need more than fancy skills and power to make it to the very top, he just realisedhe didn't have the heart
See BlackBrenny's reply which is exactly what I was gonna say it's all well and good saying he's skilled against the type of guys he's been fighting but how will he react to a guy who's got a good chin and will throw back he could fold like Gonzalez. This is from a Puerto rican website had to put it through google translate so it's a bit sketchy but you get the jist of it. Uncertain future for 'Chelo' July 31, 2013 - Sports, Puerto Rico - Carlos Narvaez The boxer has not returned to the gym since his defeat Gonzalez was heavily criticized for withdrawing from the title fight against Ricky Burns fight was winning Puerto Rican. THE SPOKESMAN / Luis Lopez The future of Jose 'Chelo' González looks uncertain. So much so that even the gym has returned from his incredible defeat in May at the lightweight champion of the World Boxing Organization, Ricky Burns. Gonzalez, a fighter who shocked the sport once standing in a great position to a ripe old age without prior training in gloves, preferred not to think about boxing, but claims to have lost the passion. 'Chelo' lost in May with Burns and has been heavily criticized for its decision. The Puerto Rican, who was very close to giving Puerto Rico a world crown, decided not to continue fighting the tenth face assault alleging a serious ailment in his left hand. At that time the judges cards were in front 87-84. "I am calm in my house with my wife, my family, my parents, not knowing anything, not knowing press," Gonzalez said. "No, never (I've lost the love of boxing). But right now I am at peace with my faithful. With those are the ones I spend, and they go home and they seek, "he added. The company Puerto Rico Best Boxing expected to Gonzalez, who is 22-1 mark and 17 knockouts, return to ensogado before the end of the year. But they also do not have a clear picture of the ideas that come to mind of Gonzalez. "I want to make a fight before the end of the year. It's something I have to discuss it with your team, "said Peter Rivera, vice president of PRBB. "I want to make a fight before the end of the year and with that start deleting 2014. But I have not talked to them. One thing is to do what we want, and see what he wants to do, "he said. The loss to Burns made Gonzalez fell from first to seventh in the WBO rankings. To continue her career, toabajeño next fight could be on the Island
Yes people do know about the sport on here some a lot more than others, but when I try to explain genuine reasons for a poor performance folk who have no knowledge of our tactics try a slag us off for it, if I were a prat I could say I predicted a late stoppage( which I did ) and claim our tactics were spot on, I never! Let's be fair the best part of our tactics went out the window coz it took a very long time for Ricky to find his distance (again down to overtraining) so he relied on getting involved when he maybe shouldn't have and turf it out
I'm not slagging you off at all. As for the tactics, I was judging from what I saw in the ring, thats all we can do as fans because you're right we don't know the exact gameplan. And again as you say yourself Ricky was struggling to find his distance and that's what we all saw so you must be able to understand where we are coming from when we say the tactics didnt look right, but if it was down to overtraining then obviously that changes the situation. I'm not slagging you off, just making observations on the fight from what I saw going on in the ring.
Where have I told you what the tactics should have been? I said to me they didn't look like they were working and you said it was down to overtraining. This is a boxing forum and as fans were obviously going to ask questions and discuss stuff like game plans.
I explained all the next day on here 4 months ago and folk are still harping on about itatsch Sometime you need to win ugly that's what happened
Fair play well I didn't see that but then again people are always going to be discussing past fights like it or not, just don't understand why you're immediate response to anyone talking about Ricky or your tactics is that they are slagging you off.
