I think they did.
But they probably don't look at Pan American, Caribbean, European championships and such, because they can't both compete in them.
Even Commonwealth Games Golds shouldn't be that important because not every strong boxing nation is present there.

So then it comes down to World level in wich Loma shines just a little bit brighter.

 

Didn't mean anything while posting Rigo's accomplishments in bold and Loma's normal. I tried copying and paste and that's how I could do it. Yes I am Cuban and of course I favor Rigo but I admit that Loma was also a beast.

The Pan Am Games, Central and Caribbean and World Cups are very important too. Winning Gold in all of them is also very hard to do.

Rigondeaux only lost " 1 very close bout " at the highest amateur level and later avenged that loss. His other losses probably came when he was starting out in Cuba.

 

So sad.... Balado died at 25. He was Olympic Champion and three times world champion.

Yes, Balado was a complete beast and a beautiful boxer. But believe it or not Rigondeaux was better as an amateur. Yes, Balado won that trophy and he clearly deserved.

I believe that trophy goes to the boxer who scores the most points and opponent's scored the less points on him. Rigo could've easily won that trophy as he completely dominated each bout at the amateurs...

fuucking hilarious that the Pan American Games and Central American and Caribbean Games were mentioned, Cuba are the only really t good boxing nation in them, its just like how Britain dominates the commonwealths. The ukranian national championships are probably better than them lol

Lomachenko won more medals than Rigo at the olympics and world championships
Lomachenko won the Val barker trophy
Lomachenko did it at a younger age
etc

 

Ahhh ... no. For Cuban boxing you have to ask a Cuban. One late afternoon Roberto Balado was driving home completely exhausted from training, felled asleep while driving and hit a tree head on. What a sad story, he was only like 25 years old. One of Cuba's best boxers for sure!!!

He was so dominant, and only 25 with 3 world championships and an olympic gold medal to his name.

 

While you have some truth in your post you have to understand that winning Gold in all of those Tournaments is very hard to do.

And if you want to mention the Ukranian National Championships then let's also mention the Cuban National Championships were Rigondeaux beat every single Cuban in front of him.
