Floyd Mayweather says that you have to have 3 things to be a great fighter.

1. The focus and strength to train as hard as possible in the gym. Perfect shape every fight.

2. Raw natural talent, reflexes, athleticism. All honed by the training mentioned above.

3. Testosterone replacement therapy.

 

No one ever said Floyd can't fight; You are setting up a strawman. His criticism is warranted, he has taken the path of least resistance and he is a hypocrite. You see if you criticize Mayweather you are automatically a hater. I believe he is one of the best of this generation but he is not the absolute best all-time (like he and his fans say).

I wish he would prove me wrong but like Mayweather said himself, "I don't fight for the fans, my health is important to me."

 

1. Have a father and an uncle that are former boxers and be a privileged douchebag from day 1
2. Accuse closest rival of cheating so you don't have to fight him and/or fake a retirement
3. Cherry pick opponents through boxing career and fight boxers that pose the least amount of risk possible

He avoided fighting certain fighters, he agreed to weight demands and than cheated on the scale, and he has made excuses for not facing Pacquaio.

Mayweather has been coddled as a fighter. If this were the 1940s-1980s, Mayweather wouldn't be in a position to make those kind of demands. He wouldn't have the type of leverage and he would have to fight the best fighters at natural weights. For example, if he cheated against Duran on the scales, Duran would flat out not fight him.

Again, fighters from 30-60 years ago were forced to fight a tougher schedule because there was no big money from PPV. The PPV fights were between great fighters, not the Victor Ortiz's, Robert Guerrero's, or Shot Mosley's of the world. Imagine if Floyd had to fight SRL, Duran, or Hearns to make any kind of money. Do you think he would be undefeated?

Floyd didn't cheat JMM because he didn't have to agree to 144 in the first place let alone a penalty for going over it.
