I think that Euros, esp. Eastern Europeans are so much hungrier and more business like. After the iron curtain came down, well, they had lived in some real poverty. Most do not trash talk, esp. Klitschkos. I have to respect them for that....................They also have excellent amateur programs, for example, Golovkin had 350 amateur fights. Vitali and Vlad both had many amateur fights, both were world military champions, International champions, Vitali would have had a gold medal if not for a kick boxing injury and Vlad did win the gold in Atlanta, Ga back in 1996. Vitali was a six time kickboxing champion, both pro and amateur. He would fight in a kick boxing fight, then go and fight in a regular boxing fight. Vitali was a five to 1 underdog when he fought Herbie Hide for the WBO championship in London. Vitali knocked him out in the second round. He was and still is incredible. I really hate to see him retire, but I expect him to retire in early 2015, if not earlier. Hope he will fight Wilder after he knocks out Stiverne.
If Kovalev beats Pascal hes definitely legit, i think thats a 50/50 fight Pascal is a beast against people he can hit he will test Kovalev's chin
Yeah, you almost never hear any of them trash talk. Before the Cleverly fight I heard Kovalev say he was "The best" but the interviewer had to drag it out of him and it more so seemed like kovalev was just being faceious(sp) to shut the guy up.
That's why he took therapeutic dosages of nandrolone undeconate. To assist in healing that injury. Unfortunately that stuff stays in your system forever even when used therapeutically under a doctor's supervision.
Off course he wouldn´t admit that he was on steroids for anything different than healing an injury. I think people have to be totally naive to believe that the Klitschkos never would cheat doing steroids, knowing that Doping was huge part of the former USSR sport system.
This is boxing and upsets happen, but I would make Kovalev the favorite over everyone at 175. I'd like to see someone at the top level at least take him to deep waters so I can gauge his conditioning and ability to adapt, but I certainly can't knock a guy who can use plan A to still destroy everybody. Kovalev's an entertaining, exceptional action fighter and I'm looking forward to see what the next few years have in store for him.
yes he is the man at 175.he would love to beat the sh** out of hopkins.if hopkins ever grows some balls maybe we can see that fight.theres no way in hell you would hear bernard"the welterweight beater"hopkins ever say he will never lose to a whiteboy to kovalev.kovalev would probably ***** slap berny if he ever talked all silly like that to him.
Kovalev was Hopkins' manditory but he kovalev chose to NOT fight hopkins...:deal At least get your facts straight. All kovalev has done is beat the dreaded Nathan Cleverly.
