TyC Sports in Argentina is supposed to be airing the upper end of the card live from 3:30pm EST (ten minutes ago) until 5:30pm EST but currently it's still "Clasificacion Carburando" - auto racing - which had the preceding time slot and seems to have run a bit long. They look to be just chatting and wrapping up, though - no actual racing going on. They should be switching over pretty soon. Here is a live LEGAL link provided by the broadcaster themselves: http://www.tv-envivo.com.ar/2011/01/tyc-sports-en-vivo.html
TyC is only showing the co-feature and the main event, having started a bit later than some other international carriers presenting more of the undercard. Their vested interest is Gabriel Arturo "The Pitbull" aka "The Surgeon" (two seemingly contradictory ring names...) Ramirez, who began his career 1-3-1 but is 12-0 (7) streak into this bid for the vacant WBC International Silver Light Heavyweight title. In the other corner is undefeated hometown boy and young Robert Duvall lookalike Ryno "The Lion" Liebenberg.
Looks to me like three talking heads jabbering away in Spanish. I can't make heads or tails out of any of it. Wish I'd paid more attention in that college Spanish class......... ....oops I spoke too soon, they seem to be showing fight videos!
I kind of dig that hard rock/metal song they always play on Boxeo Di Primera returning from commercial break - anyone know what it is? It has sort of a sludgy Machine Head sound to it.
Yeah, it seemed to be clips of some chubby heavyweights...so it can't have been highlights of Ramirez, Liebenberg, Makabu or Fields all of whom are reasonably fit at their weights. :conf
would rather be following the Teper/Sprott and Gjerjaj/Tamalo affair......can't believe BN aint covering their ole pal Sprott.:huh
Wise decision on their part. :bart It's an eight rounder and will make for HORRIBLE television. Have you ever seen Teper? :blood If you had, you wouldn't be complaining about the blackout. :dead Oh and WAR SPROTT! :bbb Go full Gerber on that slob!
That threw me off a bit too - I didn't think there were any heavies on the card and certainly not fat ones!
...so anyone looking for RBR coverage of Nkosinathi Joyi's comeback bout, challenging for the WBC International light flyweight title held by Benezer Alolod - you're **** outta luck. That happened earlier, though no result is yet up on Boxrec. TyC Sports kicked off their show in time for Ramirez's match, which is really all they care about. (though I would imagine they won't cut their feed before the main event, that would be super crappy )
For tonight, Ramirez opts to have the ring announcer introduced him as "Pit Bull". He ain't feeling surgical today. :deal He has that mean mug on.
