His best bet is to learn to protect his body.

I think Canelo looked more angled than usual against Trout. I'm not so sure he's as squared up as your making him out to be.

Also, in the same manner as JCC, Canelo will get low and duck walk to close distance sometimes.

While, this could make him open for an uppercut, it also gives lessens the chance that Mayweather can land any body punches on the way in.

And honestly, Canelo wants Mayweather to throw. The more Mayweather throws, the more of a chance Canelo has to counter, throw combinations, and land the harder blows.

I don't see how it benefits Floyd if you deride his opposition and make it look as if he's complete garbage.

So then if Floyd beats Canelo, he essentially beat garbage, right?

I don't think Canelo is garbage, he has skills. There is a possibility the weight drain clause will affect his performance, but I'm hoping that won't be a factor, and this will likely be a very competitive and entertaining fight.

"learn to protect his body"... You are right.. that is the one huge flaw that Canelo has.. that Floyd will exploit.. He gets hit in the body too much (sarcasm).

Well I'd hate to have you as my trainer for a fight, "Protect your body.. that's how you'll beat this guy. Forget about Offense or Countering... if he can't hit you in the body, he can't win."

They didn't want to fight Trout in Vegas so they jumped of the Mayweather undercard.

Go back and look at the trout fight.

He was was tearing Canelito's as.s up with those jabs and straight rights to that weak tummy.

That's why that punk got tired.

    Where was Alvarez' body attack:think:think

    Hmmm

Maybe he was too busy STAYING AWAY form Trout...:deal

Exactly what he should do. Joe Frazier made a career out of banging guys
to the body, arms, shoulders and especially the point of the hips, it would cause guys to stop moving and in a way freeze them in place. He did it to Ali and it was one way he beat him. No better way for Canelo to come out, he should not throw a punch at the head until the 3rd- 4th round just beat on Floyd in the areas described above. Same principal as flattening a couple of tires, to slow down a vehicle.

a bigger and stronger guy hitting you on the arms and shoulders all night is going to take it's toll, I'm sure Floyd is no fool and knows this, and will adjust his gameplan to get hit as little as possible

  8. Floyd is going to be hurt.

Im sure at least 20 of Mayweather's 44 opponents thought that they could just bang the guy up a bit. One even tried a headbutt. It just won't work well enough to win the fight. To beat Mayweather you need him to come in the ring already injured. The closest fights Mayweather had were when he had some kind of disadvantage going in. In the Castillo fight he tore his rotator cuff, and he just doesn't belong at 154, but he still won. That's the only thing that makes this fight interesting, it's above 147.

I think this fight will resemble the Hatton fight.
Floyd will get mugged for 4 or 5 rounds then start to put it together.
Alvarez can not match speed with Floyd, so boxing is out.
He does not have the defense to open up and go all offense, He will get countered
So being that he lacks the overall skill and ring IQ to do all that, he will likely try the "pressure" approach and tire himself out.
If he can sustain fighting hard for 12 rounds he could make the fight close, I just don't think he has the stamina that Floyd does.

Poor example of Canelo's limitations as a big puncher.
Hatton was only stopped once in his career, and that was in 2003.
So i'd say that had more to do with Hatton being a very durable opponent.
Canelo also had unbeaten Trout doing the chicken dance.

Now go look at Hattons level of opposition, THAT and only that is the reason he wasn't stopped regularly. He's awful!
Didn't Kell Brook stop Hatton too?

What did Canelito do about Trout's chicken dance??
Why didn't he try to finish him??

Trout had lil Cinnabuns on the run all night.
