Everyone who says Floyd is going to easily dominate Canelo mentions the "jab to the body" and not much else.

Well, it's obviously no secret that Floyd intends on using the jab to the body, so Canelo is going to anticipate this.

What happens if Canelo takes away Floyd's "jab to the body?"

Then he'll get hit in the face with jabs. And straight rights upstairs and downstairs. And left hooks to the head. And the occasional uppercut.

Oh really, just like that, huh?

So, you take away Floyd's jab to the body, and he goes into Ape**** mode like on "Fight Night Champion" and just starts spamming punches, too fast to slip a counter in?

Come on man, that's not a good answer.

The jab to the body is an integral part of Floyd's game plan.

taking away Floyd's jab to the body isnt a big deal. I dont get it when people talk like that. Like some use to say what happens if so & so takes away Floyd's pull counter.

I then use to say that the pull counter is a great punch but he only lands it a couple of times in a fight. Its the same with the jab to the body. Its not like he's going to throw it a million times. You have a million more punches to still worry about from Floyd. If you wanna really take away a punch then his most proffecient one is the straight right.

If you wanna make a thread then say what happens if Canelo takes away his straight right. He'll throw that way more then he will the jab to the body but even then he does it way more against Southpaws

I think if Floyd can't land the jab, the main punch he will use the the right hand lead when Canelo tries to come in. He will use that right hand lead all night long as long as he does not hurt his hand. If Floyd does hurt his hand then things will get very interesting.

I agree with you about the "pull counter," but the jab to the body is a very effective punch.

It stifles your opponents attack and sets up your offense.

I think Canelo can take away his straight right by boxing smart, and not charging in recklessly.

    He does that anyway.

Canelo has good timing and anticipation. This isn't Margarito who just comes in recklessly.

Canelo will come in behind feints, and the jab.

    Canelo's defense is pretty good.

    I'll do Mr. Pibb:

Canelito? He can't take away the jab to the body. He looks like Dennis the Menace.

Shane moved him around real easy. Floyd is going to move him around real easy.

    Easy work from Floyd.

    Jab to the body.

Just like that. He's that good. One of his tools doesn't work, he's got 9 more tools to work with. Hell, if all f*cking 10 wouldn't work, he'd make up a new one between rounds 5 and 6 and make it work anyway.

I'll be here eating crow if Floyd doesn't make this look easy. However, I'm confident he will.

This basically. I don't think Floyd is that dependent on the jab to the body.

We will get to the point, early in the fight, where every other Mayweather opponent just stands there, anticipating instead of creating because they will not like getting hit back. That's when the reality of Floyd Mayweather sets in.

I'd imagine that Floyd's first move would be to feint the jab to the body and throw the straight-right upstairs. A few of those and Canelo will be more concerned with that than the jabs to the body.

Well if Floyd can't land to the body, and Canelo anticipates instead of throws, how will Canelo's stamina come into play?

Additionally, Alvarez, due to his size and skills is harder to hit than the majority of Mayweather's former opponents.

He's not going to take away his jab to the body. No fighter has done that against Floyd since he's been a professional.

He uses really good angles and a bunch of feints to ensure his jabs find a home on his opposition.

Have you ever fought before? :huh

How exactly would one take away the Jab to the body? That would be like Canelo saying he was going to take away Floyd's right hand lead. How would one go about that? :huh
