He wants to rent our 24 foot ring for his fight in December. It is 20' inside the ropes. Sounds like Mike wants some room to move.
We are to deliver it and set it up and tear it down. Going to get free tickets to the fight and expenses. We sent him the cost and we have not heard back yet. Denver is about 6 hours drive by car but it will take longer in a truck.
Won't be there in time to do that. Drive up Friday, set up ring early Saturday. Tear down after fight and drive back Sunday.
Why, the ring size was in the contract? It was agreed upon by both parties. As were the gloves brand and size etc etc etc.
Hello Flatlander! Where have you been? I don't see where such a ring would favor either fighter. This size in the actual fight? However, I remember that he did box more in his last fight, so...............
Hey Farmboxer, been around but seldom post here anymore. The sight had gone downhill pretty badly. Not sure if it will help Alvarado or not. It depends a lot on what matting we use too. A soft mat slows down movement and helps a puncher. The harder matting will help a mover. I have never given much stock to the size of a ring but a lot of other coaches and trainers do.
Ruslan won't be smiling back when Mike lands on him. It's one thing taking Bradley's power and another taking blows from Alvarado. I still think he's got the right idea by boxing rather than brawling in this fight though.
Good stuff Alvarado's next fight with Provo should be a great one. Mike will need to box more like he did in the Rios rematch.
