In an interview Stevens said that he was not the one that wanted the fight, it was his Golovkin. HBO wanted this fight so they got it. It will get good ratings until HBO can talk one of the middleweight champions into fighting Golovkin. Golovkin had 350 amateur fights, has fast feet, quick punches, good defense. I can't see Stevens winning this fight, but in boxing everyone has a chance sometimes, but I don't expect it to be Stevens.

I'm loving the no fear attitude in stevens and once he touches golovkins chin he may put him to sleep. This will be another gonzalez vs mares situation where nobody gives stevens a shot and he proves them wrong.

Yeah me neither but I think the difference the in this case is we're so used to reading about how GGG will put people in coffins it's refreshing\encouraging\inspiring to see one of his opponents doing it.

    You see GG's legs??

He has legs like a Flamingo with polio...plus he has a scrawny neck.
GG can dish it out but he is not designed to take it.

Maybe that's why he was brought up so slowly.

    That was at 168

For all you know GG might look worse at that weight.

I just watched GG vs Ouma....if Ouma had half the power Stevens does he'd still be asleep.

Golovkin should be fighting someone better than this. Stevens is promoting the fight, which is good for both fighters in terms of money but he isn't exactly a credible opponent. A step down after GGG's last fight.

Maybe they're not xenophobes and they actually like boxing/boxers? Why wouldn't you be a fan of a guy who comes to fight and has devastating power? What relevance does his nationality have with anything? USA USA USA

Well if that is the case Brits...Mexicans...Ricans..Argentines...Russians ect ect must be xenophobes because they ALWAYS support their fighters:deal

Seems like Americans are the main ones that pull against their own fighters.:think

It's good that GGG is facing a puncher. It's a necessary part in convincing us he's as great as his people say he is.

I like that Stevens is acting confident, but for him to win GGG would have to be a total hype job.

Stevens has a good chance. While GG has been fighting smaller men at 154...Stevens has been fighting bigger guys at 168.

GG beats guys down with his power punches
Stevens is countering mofos and putting them to SLEEP.

At least GG gives you a chance to quit.
