Floyd Mayweather-Saul Alvarez draws veteran referee, with some surprises among judges

    Floyd Mayweather and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will earn tens of millions, while Kenny Bayless will make $10,000 as third man in the ring for next week's junior middleweight megafight.


    Bayless was appointed referee of the 12-round main event during today's meeting of the Nevada Athletic Commission in Las Vegas.


    Dave Moretti, C.J. Ross and Craig Metcalfe were appointed as judges.

    Wow! That's all that Bayless makes. I figured he would have gotten atleast 50K. Metcallfe is the judge that concerns me seems to be a bought and paid for GBP judge. Ross does as well but not as much as Metcalfe.

    Most refs only get 1k and less for high profile fights. Not bad for one night of work, he's the ref not the attraction. He's paid well but doesn't deserve 50k to ref anything.

    how on earth is this mother****er let near a ring to judge a fight as important as this? Ross is an incompetent disgrace to the sport of boxing and I WOULD REFUSE TO LET HIM JUDGE EVENA HOT DOG EATING CONTEST THE MAN IS A PIECE OF ****

    THIS FIGHT HAS BECOME A ****ING JOKE WITH THIS INCOMPETENT AT RINGSIDE.

    Why bother with the fight at all just give Floyd the decision now.
    Can you see either official giving anything to Canelo. Just another Mayweather farce

    But I agree partly with your final statement. Can you honestly see either of these judges giving a decision win to Canelo??? That's why theyre there . Insurance for Floyd.
