Prime for prime, for all his technical flaws, Roy's athletic capabilities were so ridiculous that he trumps Floyd by a solid margin despite Floyd being a more complete fighter. However, from an overall standpoint, I can't really see a case for Roy being even all that close to Floyd.

His athletic gifts began slipping well before he took a legitimate loss.

Probably still outside the top 10 at 147, and 130 historically lacks any real significance.

Jones beat Hopkins, Toney, Pazienza, McCallum, Griffin, Hill, Grant, Gonzalez, Woods, Ruiz & Tarver & d1ckhead fans say his resume is weak.

I can see Floyd Beating Arguello at that weight... but Arguello would have beat Pac at 130

You mean the former Light Welter Pazienza? You also mean the 40 year old McCallum? Why not throw in the blown up former Welter Trinidad as well?

    Hmm,

now lets see. At 36 Jones had already been KTFO twice, and was looking to rebuild his credibility by fighting people like Hanshaw, and the aforementioned Trinidad.

At 36 Mayweather is about to fight the younger, unbeaten naturally bigger Alvarez, albeit at a catchweight.

Yeah a really hard one to answer.

Roy may have faded earlier than Floyd but he had done way more the Floyd has or will do in his entire career by 34..

Just having beat Toney & Hopkins puts him above Floyd, never mind that he went from 160 to 200+ with ease.

Jones beat Hopkins at 160 then went to 168 to beat Toney name anything Floyd has done that comes even close to those wins?

if you want to argue that floyd's overall body of work is better, ok maybe but understand that jones' best was better than floyd's best. another thing i look at is that floyd was pushed to the limit by castillo and this was in floyd's prime. i had both fights between them even. jones had the dq vs griffin who frustrated him in the first fight but then you saw the rematch. floyd is a great, great fighter and an immature brat some of the time outside the ring.

Jones' biggest wins were Hopkins & Toney. Floyd's biggest wins doesn't even come close.

Jones by a mile. The only guy he ducked was DM. Mayweather ducked everyone that matters, retired when good opponents are available and makes up all kinds of excuses not to fight someone.

Jones was the most athletic boxer ever. No one compared to his speed, power, and reflex.

Tell you like this. The green Jones Jr. that last fought at 154 early in his career, would beat the brakes off of this, or any version of Floyd who fought at 154, that is a fact. Too fast, too much power. He would probably KO Floyd.

    GREATNESS is earned!

It's not based on boxing skills, it's based on accomplishment. It's what you accomplish in your career that makes you great.

It doesn't matter if Floyd Mayweather is a more complete fighter. The only thing matters is who he has fought and who has he beaten. Jones beat Hopkins & Toney in their prime. And he's beat a lot of quality guys in his career, more than Mayweather.

If Mayweather wants to be greater than Jones, he need to start fighting and beating guys like Matthysee and Pacquiao.

Jones best wins are better than Mayweather's best wins. Simple as that.

Floyd had the chance to have a better win than any of Roy's but he didn't dare to take it.

This failure of nerve has resulted in Roy being forever ranked above Lil Floyd in the p4p lists.

Floyd will be remembered as an ATG who could have been a lot greater.
