Bars in NYC for "The One" - Suggestions?

    Will be in NYC for the weekend (over from London) and hoping some of you may have suggestions on bars to watch the Mayweather fight. I'm not too worried about having to pay a cover etc, just want somewhere with plenty of screens so I can watch the fights.

    The girlfriend will be with me (she doesn't know it yet) so Hooters probably isn't an option!

    I'm staying by Times Sq but really not worried about having to head to other parts of town to watch it.

    Merion's yes,but forget that K Town bar.Terrible service and pathetic uninterested staff when I was there about 6 months ago.Haven't been back since.
    Of the two,keep to the Upper East side.Check out the Irish Pub on 52nd and 7th,a great spot and the owner loves boxing.:good

    If you're going just to watch the fights, and not necessarily drink, you might want to consider going to a theater...

    Looking for a good sports bar that shows ppvs, specifically the upcoming Mayweather vs Canelo fight. And regular showtime and HBO fights as well if possible.

    wow Merion's is like 2 blocks from where I'm staying for the semester. I'm definitely down to watch the fight there, free burger with beers too? hell yea. Let me know if you guys meet up.

    The Playwright I and II both show fights in Midtown and the other in Theater District. Are they showing this one at theaters? Last one was at a few, 42nd street I believe, and I watched in the East Village (was packed in two rooms).

    Check out The Corner. Great boxing bar, but kind of small. Otherwise, midtown is absolutely loaded with bars showing the fight. They aren't hard to find at all.

    I assume you mean JIMMY'S CORNER BAR at 44th West and 7th Ave.
    Great dive bar but bring cash-they don't take credit cards but beer is cheap($3) and the customers are friendly and interesting.Chances are you will bump into a former fighter or sports reporter,or just ask for Jimmy Glenn,the owner and great former trainer of fighters.He is very friendly and always has time for you.A great place to kill a couple of hours and enjoy the boxing memorabelia that adournes the walls.:thumbsup

    go to Studio Square. Its a short subway ride to Astoria Queens but its a tremendous outdoor bar with a jumbo tron TV, best place to watch a fight in NYC.
