    First thing I thought of. Magnificent display of skill by both men. I can watch that fight over and over and over and still see new, subtle things that I had missed.

    I think one thing some of you are assuming I meant, is that by my choice of words in "skill level" you believe I'm speaking of strictly textbook boxing, as seen in Leonard/ Benitez and Toney/McCallum.
    My intention in those words was skill level in the most general sense, not in one area.

    Heavyweights - for me at least which is no saying much but Rocky Marciano vs Joe Louis pitted my No.1 of all time against my No.3 of all time so that is MY highest ranking pairing of fighters in the same ring - unfortunately a shopworn Louis but all the same certainly my two highest ranking heavies to have fought

    For me, even though Luguna was at the end of his career, the first bout with Buchanan has always stood out here as two high skilled boxers head to head.

    Lennox Lewis vs Vitali Klitschko was a match up of 2 of the best Heavyweights of all time. Even though they didn't showcase their ("boxing") skills in that fight because usually both rely on their height/reach advantage over their opponents, but when they faced each other, that advantage wasn't there for either of them, so they just outbrawled it in one of the biggest wars the heavyweight division ever saw.

    This fight exhibited Vitali's UNBELIEVABLE set of whiskers....probably the best chin of any heavyweight champ.

    McCallum's 2nd fight with Kalambay was a few levels above the Toney fight for pure technical skill from both fighters.

    McCallum looked drained from it and past his prime against james imo.still really nice looking, but he faded badly over the last third and ended up very sloppily.
