Ok I am totally embarrassed and angry about what went down tonight. That was truly disgusting! Absolute nonsense decision. I know some of you non brits are jumping on us and let me assure you, I think you will find that many Brits had Beltran winning and by good margins too. We do not support this kind of **** on our shores, it's discpicable and it gives British boxing and everyone associated with British boxing a bad name. It will also be detrimental to our ability to get big fights on here in the UK. But I doubt that these gangsters really care, as long as they can find a way to make money and protect their cash cows, they won't give a ****. So accept my apology on behalf of us Brits, yes we talk trash, are ****y sometimes and all the rest of it, but we do not condone **** like this. Feel incredibly sorry for Ray, his family and everyone associated with him, who will not see his hard work get rewarded and seeing a dream become reality. Boxing really is a cruel cruel sport sometimes, not always for the hard nature of the game in the ring, but for the unfair, unjust, damn right scandalous crap that goes on. Big respect to Ray Beltran, and you are 100% a world champion.
I know Ricky personally, I go to all his fights, I stay only a mile away from him and trained in his old gym. There is no bigger fan of Ricky Burns than me, but that result tonight was an absolute embarrassment. Total corruption.
ive seen at least 5 in the last half hour on different threads, at least one mong in a post above yours. read a little more.
I was at the fight and there was a collective 'what the ****' when the decision got read out. The Scottish crowd support their fighter but nobody was happy with that tonight, Beltran robbed blind and it was embarrassing. The judge who had Burns winning must be on the take. Nobody can be that incompetent in their job surely?
Yep where the **** did he find that score?? I seriously struggled to give Ricky more than 3 or 4 rounds if you want to be generous. With the 10-8 for Beltran as well for the kd I am baffled. Beltran won that fairly easily. Wasn't even close unless excessive holding is now part of the scoring criteria.
I would not call it a robbery, It was close I had same score as the commentator 115-113 for Beltran but There were a few rounds, 3 and 11 that could have gone the other way and made it a DRAW. Now the judge that had burns 115-112 is off for sure but the overall decision of a draw is within reason. Funny thing is the judge that gave it to burns was American?
