In England, the women look a tad on the masculine side, while the men look more on the feminine side. So maybe you have a better set of whiskers than you think. Could be the culture or accent? I will say the people are nice in general. Chins and durability tend to matter more in the upper weights. In general I think Mexican's are pretty durable in the lower weights, but this is not always the case in the upper weights. I have seen good durability come in various shapes, shades, and weights. I prefer to make every fighter an individual case, but if its a UK heavy, I guess I starting wondering early.
You are likely correct in all of this. However, British and Polish fighters DO seem to be more likely to have glass jaws, purely on anecdotal evidence. But I doubt this would hold up under rigorous statistical analysis. Still, it's a fun thing to banter about, and if you don't take your ethnic background too seriously - which I don't - it's an interesting thing to point out. Probably means nothing statistically, but let's have fun with it anyway.
Good to hear. In boxing sometimes one part of the anatomy can help the other. Chins are part mental, and believe it or not, the only way to get used to being hit....is to get hit. No chin is tested until it takes a clean and hard shot. This is why many undefeated and un-tested fighters crash and burn. On my observation, a big / strong neck ( but not a long one ) and a large heads, and thick bones are signs of the ability to take head shots more often than not. But the guy needs to have a set, and get used to being hit!
Why is England in that poll? I'm not aware of any English fighter who's recently had his jaw badly exposed.
many african americans have glass jaws , but mexican/spanish americans have the best chins in the sport and Brits have worst chins without a question.
British and Polish fighters tend to have awful defense... Hands down and chin up when in a dangerous position, Think Hatton, Proksa, Enzo, Szpilka.... Mexicans keep their chins tucked and don't reach with their shots, that's why they don't get koed...
Liverpool isn't in England? :huh I can say Khan but you'd probably say he was P@ki even though he was born and raised in England cause you're deluded into the fact that Englishmen have wet paper bag chins.
Cuban boxers overall have solid chins, it's funny how many people mention them. The UK is #1, USA is somewhere there.
