Let me clear some things up about Floyd Mayweather Jr.

1. He took the fight with Alvarez because he was pressured by Showtime execs. PPV numbers for the Mayweather vs Guerrero fight only did 870K. Showtime expects to profit after each Mayweather fight and not lose millions like they did last time. Regardless, it's great for the fans because we finally get to see Mayweather fight more legit opponents. Deep inside, we all know if Mayweather had his way, he would've fought a non-threat opponent like Khan instead.

2. He is the only athlete in the top 100 list without a single sponsor. You can guess why and it will be a disaster having Mayweather as an endorser. Check it here: forbes.com/athletes/list/

3. The "Mayweather Promotions" company is really a fake poser company. It's not even licensed (look it up). It's no different than "Canelo Promotions" or "MP Promotions" companies created by Canelo and Pacquiao. All promotions for Mayweather fights including logistics is really all still handled by Golden Boy Promotions and Mayweather has to pay them.

4. Mayweather has a guaranteed purse of $41.5M for next week's fight. He pays the federal income tax of 39.5% for this fight so he will be making $25M in guaranteed after tax. For those claiming what he is making is far superior to others, compare with Pacquiao who will be earning a $22M guaranteed for the Rios fight. As a foreign fighter, he will only be paying tax to Macau and Philippines which is 12% combined. Do the simple math and Pacquiao will be taking home $19.5M. $25M earned by Floyd vs $19.5M earned by Manny.

5. He has no appeal outside of the "0". Everyone knows that once he loses his "0", his draw plummets. This is his entire resume.

 

And he doesn't fight guys at catchweights. Oh wait
