That punch in the 8th looked the akward one landed right on front of the chin .I can feel it putting a we bit of pressure on mine where the punch landed , snap .Could have done damage earlier cause Beltran was landing big left hooks to the jaw but I think that one in the 8th has did the most damage .

Lets say it was actually the 2nd round it happened - are you seriously suggesting fighting from then with a broken jaw would have no impact???

Fair play to Beltran, he did the damage and deserved the win but clearly an injury like that is going to impact how Burns would fight.

It is irrelevant though - what happened happened.

I think it was round 3 when he nearly got put down that caused the initial damage and then I reckon the 8th round knockdown snapped it for good.

Breaking another fighters jaw in boxing match is like scoring a goal in football, hurting your opponent is the name of the game I think people seem to forget that.Beltran should be given more credit for breaking his jaw than Burns should be getting for having one.If Ricky wasnt throwing those wild hooks and being so careless he may not have had to deal with the broken jaw,Ive never seen Ricky Burns so sloppy. He just hasnt looked himself in his last two fights,go watch the Moses or Katsidis fights it was like a completely different fighter in there.

It definately wasnt round 2 or early in the fight thats for sure. Burns seemed quite happy to let his corner know he was in pain from the jaw after round 9/10 why wouldnt he do this after rounds 2,3,4,5,6,7...which Sky wouldve picked up on.

Fixed cards now this, Eddie Hearn insulting boxing fans intelligence with this smokescreen.

Maybe he said nothing for the first few rounds afterwards as he was telling himself it would go away or trying to ignore it, the more punches he took the worse it got and he ended up saying something about it?

Either way, yuo want to make this something controversial so its probably pointless giving logical examples as to why Sky hadnt picked up on it earlier.

Eh? What has Ricky losing the fight got to do with when his jaw broke?

Hang on, see the last sentence of my previous post, that clears up your statement

I just think its more likely the break was caused by sustained trauma. Burns has flawed technique and drops his right everytime he throws...

I dont think it can be a coincidence he was floored with a big left hook in round 8 then complained of jaw pain in after round 10 which probably finished his fractured jaw off.

Eddie Hearn isnt stupid and realises he can get some public sympathy and take attention away from the bent decision by saying Burns was under par because he fought THE ENTIRE fight with a handicap and feeding Ricky this line.

In truth we will never really know as he was getting caught all fight with that shot but i just cant use the fact the first sky picked up on it too much as justification of when it happened.

The knockdown shot certainly wont have helped.

I also see your point on the sympathy angle but Ricky doesnt come across as the type to lie about it. Wouldnt put it past Eddie but it wold surprise me if Ricky himself lied about it

Doe nobody find it peculiar it was not mentioned on SKY/Wealth until the 8th? I knew something was up, well hoped that as he was so poor. It isn't until the 8th stanza that SKY pick it up.....
