whats the unlicensed boxing circuit like down here?

is it well organised? where can I watch fights in Sydney region? I was at a fight night in queensland a few months ago and the promoter was telling me about a good thing they got happening in Toowoomba.

I was watching some youtube clips of the IBA (independent boxing association) in the UK and **** me they have a good set up. really well organised - nothing like the movie snatch.

infact tim witherspoon has fought on IBA shows and danny Williams is about to as well.

someone help me out..does it exist down here?

there isn't exactly an established scene. but a lot of promoters are putting "corporate" bouts on pro shows. deller has a massive following, Jamie myer does it and angelo has recently just done it at eatons hill last week.

Jamie runs exclusive corporate shows too. think he recently had one (or has one coming up at) the turf club down there on the GC

but then saying that the IBA uses a ref and 3 judges. the corporate bouts down here aren't like that, most of them end in a draw even if one guy got his ass handed to him

youre better off just training and getting good sparring in a pcyc for a small price rather than lining some promoters pockets with thousands of dollars to have an amateur 'fight'

Dale Berry had an unlicensed fight recently and rekons he isnt to bothered about it not being on boxrec and will chase it up some day, when asked if it was 100% legit pro bout he says yeah it was, just over looked by the boxing board as they were not informed about it, yet this crackpot seems to somehow think its going to emerge on boxrec, well his correct in some ways, it should be on his boxrec record but listed as a NC. He should also be given an official warning from the commission for partaking in a non sanction bout as its against the rules. If you do this in the ABA you get suspended but in the pro's no one really seems to give a fck unless of course your caught fighting under age , like Dwight Ritchie, if they are going to pin guys like Dwight they should pin guys like Berry.

What sort of promotion is letting Dale Berry still go around in it anyway. The guy is about 50.
They are trying to crack down on "Interclub" bout in the amateurs, surely the powers that be should be able to do it in the pros.
Dale seems caught up in this "Im a pro fighter" thing, he should have been doing this 15 years ago if he was going to have a crack at it.
Maybe he could give the masters games a run?? He wouldn't be on boxrec but he would be on the internet getting some sort of notoriety that he is obviously seeking. Its sad that he is still doing it at his age.

  10. Licensing isn't a choice for some of us.

It was some white collar boxing promo, none of the bouts are sanction, they used to try get them sanction but the commission wont sanction them anymore. He fought the promoter of the event and lost. Apparently he is training for another fight, he is riddled with injuries and just doesnt know when enough is enough, he even bragged on another site about splitting his missus lip open because she didnt have his dinner ready, thats what kinda bloke we are dealing with here, enough said really

Well he cant win a fight against someone who can fight so I guess taking a points win on the missus is the next best thing for him!

the "ABL" or wat eva they are calling it now is prob the best to have a go at no points scoring method and basically filled with people who want to have a fight or 2 no skill needed
