First off, there's been a million commercials for this fight the last week or so. People who are aren't even boxing fans know about it. Second, I saw one advertisement where Xfinity customers get Showtime for free for 3 months if they order the fight. So right now I'm paying $10 a month for Showtime, which means my cost for this fight is only going to be $45. If you're an Xfinity customer, you might want to contact them to get the details.
They are definitely promoting the hell out of it, as they should be. I'll be proud to see buys go over 2 million.
They better.Showtime and CBS can't afford another big box office flop like Mayweathers last fight. They lost millions!
This is great for boxing. ESPN was live in Vegas during SportsCenter today. A freaking Wednesday. Not the weigh in, not day of, but a full four days before the fight. I love the promotional tie in with Showtime.
The Texas A&M-Alabama game is on CBS, Showtime's parent company and it takes place right before the fight. Biggest college game of the year and should be full of commercials for The One. Still, 2 million is a lot at $70 a pop.
I hope it does well because if this fight doesnt, I dont know what will. It'd be good for boxing if we had a successful night with a memorable 2 fights.
