The gift was most probably a bit of karma for Billy Dibs poor behaviour in the ring earlier on :yep I wish Brunker all the best :good
basically what it all comes down to is the fact that angelo feels he has taken joel as far as he can take him, given the current set up of the camp. he has one trainer over here and his new trainer in the states - steve rowland. im not sure that works to well with this set up.. and im pretty sure angelo thinks that and feels thats where joels focus needs to be (with his new trainer) if he wants to progress his career.
Call me a hater or what you will but i just shoot it from the hip and im straight up, Its not hard to win a AUS title when your opponent is a dud with a record of 5-3-1. Then fight for it again a few fights later against a guy whos record is 3-2-2. All in all, good record padding skills, not much more. He will be exposed the moment he steps it up. Its like putting a horse in a donkey race, sure he looks good but put him in the melbourne cup with the elites and he comes undone very quickly.
He stepped up last fight and won against Mike Oliver, not a bad win at all considering Oliver challanged Junma only a few years back
Oliver was coming off a 2 year lay off then he had a tough 10 round fight with Dib then fights Brunker 5 weeks later. Hardly a fair fight with little time to recover from the Dib fight and no time to prepare. I dare say Oliver would win a rematch under fairer circumstances.
Joels fight was before Billy's. Oliver fighting again tomorrow. http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?cat=boxer&human_id=64303 He's certainly getting active now. Hopefully Joel can step it up under his new manager whoever that may be.
I watched Oliver fight Dib & Brunker. If you think that is a good win for a guy unbeaten in 20 something fights you have no idea.
I got to go with Midnight on this one, Oliver got beat by Dib, he is nothing special that's for sure and neither imo is Brunker. Dib padded his record most of his career and got exposed for it, the same sht will eventually happen to Brunker. My main point was to highlight the opponents he fought for AUS titles as Di Carlo made out it was some big achievement on this list of achievements he has assisted with in regards to Brunker. Anyone can match up a dud fight and pay sanction fees. The AUS title has been so diluted with this crap it no longer holds any value.
:rofl:rofl:rofl How many Aus titles you won? How many times did you try and fail to win a state am title with the Association or League? Don't forget the time you got your ass handed to you and were left on your hands and knees after a 3x2 min 'state tile' am fight in Cessnock. :hi:
I might not been on this forum for long but I have been in the boxing business all my life. To Brunker credit he represent ed his at the highest level as a amateur Athens and on other occasionions. He has fought everyone that has been put in front of him if anyone wants to make assumption talk about his management. His like so many others fighters that come out of this country they are great prospects but haven't got the same backing as overseas fighters. Money and sparing is I believe Brunker in need of if he is to succeed. And that means someone behind him that wants him to go to the top.
JOHNNY dont you think all this baiting back n forth is getting a bit stale. You seem to forget that Ty beat Billy Dib,and that other Aussie great former olympian and Aust champion Dave Birchell. Peronally i only won a golden gloves tournament so i sit here humbled by so many ledgends.
