i dont think showtime can afford mayweather to lose a decision with that humongo contract...sauls gotta knock the man out
Keeping the young man unbeaten and setting up a big money rematch to "set the record straight" may also be a motive, however. If it makes it to the cards, it could be a repeat of the Bradley-Pacquiao scenario; although, admittedly, it was easier to screw Manny since he had no unbeaten record to protect.
oh ****! bet the house on mayweather! teddy's my dog, i love him as an announcer and pundit but this is the kiss of death!
Teddy knows he got so many wrong picks that he just want to get all the respect back with one pick if he lucks out.
I like Atlas but the guy is confused. Didn't he just say that he expects Mayweather will win and possibly by stoppage?
Teddy Atlas is a lot like Doug Fisher, Professional first, objective analyst second. If no one is taking the underdog he'll put pimping the fight before his own reputation and take one for the team by picking a guy he knows is going to lose. Teddy's great cause he'll do it for fights his network isn't even covering, just to do boxing a favor. He actually admitted he did this when he picked one of the americans (chambers?) over WK. Anyways point is doing take the actual prediction they make at face value, but they do know the game and can make good arguments for why the underdog has a chance.
