I'm wondering if Alvarez might have some punch resistance issues we haven't seen because he hasn't faced the crème de la crème of the sport yet.

What do others think? Think Mayweather might wobble or KO this guy tonight?

I am much more curious to find out whether he has a glass career like you or whether he can continue to rise even if he losses

Cotto had Canelo in real trouble for sure. Mosley, even though shot, still had power and he couldn't drop him. Being drained will make him more at risk of glass chin.

His opposition has been weak because he was only 21. From the age of 21-23 his resume has been/is better than most other 23 year olds. This will be the second guy in a row that A) was the best perceived opponent B) he was expected to lose to.

Yeah, and the fact that Mathew Hatton - not exactly a heavy hitter - seemed to shake him, doesn't inspire confidence about his chin either.

I will not be surprised in Mayweather stops him late like he did to Ricky Hatton.

Floyd might go for the knockout once Alvarez gasses- a late TKO wouldn't surprise me if Alvarez's conditioning isn't up to snuff.

i think his been in enough fights and taken enough good shots to show he has a decent set of whiskers

I'm not sure. It's not out of the question.

I would ask the same question of Mayweather though; there's an assumption that he has a great chin because he survived being badly rocked early by Mosley, but another way to look at that is to wonder why he was affected thus. Has Mosley got any early stoppages on his record of late? Nope, you've got to go back to 2001 and Adrian Stone to find someone he stopped before the midway point, and plenty took a lot of full-blooded shots from the man before they showed signs of being as hurt as Mayweather was.

Floyd Mayweather is a fantastic boxer, but as his reflexes dim with age I wouldn't be surprised to see the chin exposed as a weak link.

I hope Floyd goes for the KO.
So his "Mayweather" chin can finally show itself.
(Up until today he has been using his mom's side)

    Relax...

    Better question,

Is it possible that once Al Haymon saw the turn out for Trout vs Alvarez he saw huge $$$$$$ signs in a Mayweather match and paid Trout to throw the fight?:think
