Kind of irrelevant though. There have been many weak eras. Criticizing a fighter for "selling" a fight in which he moves up to a division above his best and takes on the highest ranking fighter in that division then utterly ****ing schools him is silly.

    Round 7

Mayweather is leaning back into the ropes and countering with quick slingshot right hands when Alvarez strays too close with his patient jabbing always dissolving into lunges. Mayweather is curling up and making himself a small target, arms folding compactly against his lean frame as he spirals away. Alvarez is backed into the ropes by jabs and right hands to the head despite keeping his gloves out to intercept. Very accurate work by Mayweather, walking Alvarez down. Big rights by Alvarez to fight his way off the ropes, not touching but causing Mayweather to give him some breathing room.

    10-9 Mayweather

    70-63 Mayweather

Back to Plan A for Alvarez. Stop boxing, start fighting.
