can someone explain to me why people are still calling out "weight drained"?

canelo himself said he was very happy with how he made weight and felt great

before all this lets remember he came in 153 and one half pound for trout so it was 1 and a half pounds more for canelo to lose

now if you dont want to take canelos word for it why wont you listen to a medical professional who was hired to examine canelo and make sure he was not weight drained, he was very happy with canelos weight

nothing mentioned about feeling off or sluggish to even suggest weight draining after the fight either and i feel during the fight he actually looked very good though when you are in the ring with a superior fighter you always look a little less then average (anyone can look great on the heavybag lets not forget)

so honestly why is "hrr weight drained" still being touted ???

Because FMJ demanded a catchweight, then lied about who demanded it to the fans, then boasted about how it was a smart business move. This after the build up to the Cotto fight he said Floyd don't drain fighters.

This is less about Canelo and more about FMJ.

What do they know. How are they supposed to tell how his performance would be affected. Canelo had to change his diet entirely, to eat more cucumbers and less meat and protein. Canelo was still healthy, he didn't look unhealthy, he just didn't have that extra oomph he would get at the normal weight.

Did DLH's team and medical professionals say DLH was drained B4 Pacquiao? How about Cotto's team and medical professionals before his bout with Pacquiao? Who's going to come out and say "yeah dude's weight drained" before a big fight?

Canelo had to change his diet and train to lose 2 extra pounds because that was the only way FMJ would fight. And your math is wrong. Canelo didn't weigh over 15 lbs heavier on fight night. He weighed 13 lbs heavier. (and 7 lbs lighter than he did vs Trout - as a result of the catchweight and his changed diet)

He was 7 lbs lighter than he was against Trout.

 

Oh right, so you're saying the 13lbs weight advantage wasnt enough for Canelo, & a 20lbs advantage is more fair?

There are weight classes for a reason. There is a reason why the weigh-ins are the day before the fight. What you weigh after you make weight is up to the fighters. Catchweights are not normal when both fighters hold a belt in a weight class.
