he is trying to prove he is the best making the fight entertaining and i think tonight he succeeded, canelo has a great chin and is a much bigger fighter.. i think a knockout was always a rare chance but atleast floyd proved alot of his critics wrong and showed he could make a fight very entertaining

maybe he wanted to stamp his authority early and prove he was scared of the bigger fighter. Everyone noticed that too and were surprised where I was watching it. I expected Canelo to be the aggressive one in the early rounds not Mayweather.

The replays showed some good right hands where he turned Canelo's head around.

    This.

He thought educated pressure would make Canelo gas out. I thought it would too combined with the extra 2lbs weight loss, but it didn't.

Canelo was well trained for this fight and didn't gas at all IMO.

I think it's partly because of the quick turnaround this time. He looked a lot sharper and fresher. He looked very comfortable and at ease with himself

Have yall seen Floyd fight? In what fight was he not aggressive. The biggest misconception in boxing is that Floyd is scared or afraid to fight. Floyd beats people up in the ring.

Do not confuse the Ring I.Q. with cowardice/timidness.

Because he could stand in front of Canelo and make him miss everything but a few jabs and body punches.

    Floyd is a slick mf'

Mayweather can do it either way. But Alvarez let Mayweather come forward in the first round and only threw a handful of punches because he didn't want to rush in and get countered. I think those were Canelo's tactics and he knew he wouldn't be able to pressure him for 12 rounds

I didn't think Floyd was more aggressive than he normally is.

I thought it was a slow paced fight that suited Mayweather. Canelo didn't have the tank to rough Floyd up, then the game came down to a skills shoot out and there was only ever going to be one winner in that game.

Ricky Hatton did better than Canelo. Alverez is a hype job.

I do agree that there is a misconception about Floyd being a runner.. he stays in the pocket and is very defensive but is not a runner.
Having said that, I personally only saw him become an aggressive fighter since the Ortiz fight.. minus the Ghost fight where he was back to his defensive tactics (at least at the beginning).
Before then, he was never aggressive coming into a fight (from the fights that Iv'e seen since circa 2004)
