If u ask me Mayweather was lenient with the terms, a true ww/jmw catchweight would of been at 150, like Team Alvarez originally offered (in that well publicized article)

The catchweight actually helped him in my opinion, he had more energy late than what he had shown in previous fights

I'm not saying Canelo was hurt but he didnt take getting hit consistently very well, it affected his mind more than his body, dude was frustrated, coming apart at the seams, telegraphing punches, and getting sloppy. Thats something we haven't seen from Canelo in past fights, his footwork and angles where atrocious

It wasn't a ww/jmw catchweight. Both guys held a title at 154 lbs!!

Mayweather did not have a title at 154 at this time. It was vacated after he beat Cotto.

Mayweather was champion at 147, and Alvarez at 154 when the fight was made. Stop trying to bend the truth.

Floyd is a welterweight, and that ain't nothing but the truth. Floyd came in at 150 as he did in his previous 2 jmw fights. A true catchweight would of been at 150, Floyd who holds all the negotiating power was leniant with Alvarez and Saul should be thankful he only had to come down 2 pounds.

Mayweather won the WBA Super World light middleweight title vs Miguel Cotto. Yes it was technically vacated, and Alvarez won it vs Trout, but it was the same title FMJ won vs Cotto. The WBC light middleweight title was a title that Canelo had since 2011. And did you notice who was holding the WBC title at the weigh-in? Not the Champ in Canelo, but FMJ, who was holding Canelo's title and got the belt re-done in Gold. Now please tell me exactly how was FMJ in possession of a new version of Canelo's WBC title prior to the bout? This is an absolute abomination. All at a 152 lb catchweight. What a disgrace.

YOu think Floyd is arsed over belts? He's fighting the people for the most money, not to become a world champion.

I'm sure Canelo wouldn't hold it.

The weight was never an issue if a boxer as seasoned Marquez couldn't lay a glove on Floyd did people really think Canelo would ?

But seriously, why was Floyd able to re-make the WBC belt into Gold before the fight and have it in his possession? Wasn't that Canelo's belt?

Bigger, smaller, same size, he beats them all the same, remember the Floyd only picks on lil guys excuse, so what is Oscar, Cotto, Canelo....smaller men?

Right. Jose Sulaiman had the belt made to mark the biggest fight in years. It was presented at the weigh in for both fighters to hold for a pr photo. After Canelo spat his dummy out it went back to the WBC and it would be presented to the winner.

Doesn't that sound strange to you? Why was Floyd in possession of the WBC belt? It was Canelo's belt. Not Floyd's. Floyd had the belt going into the weigh-in. I applaud Canelo for not touching that belt at the weigh-in, as Floyd was holding a new version of his belt, asking him to post with it? Imagine if someone stole the belt you held for 2+ years, re-did it with Gold, then asked you to hold it? His belt was essentially given to Floyd before the fight even happened. Canelo was the WBC Champ. He should have had the title on his shoulder the whole time. How do you not see how bizarre this is?

I will agree with this. Canelo was getting frustrated by getting jabbed so much without being to return fight and have it hit its target.

It was a belt for the winner! The winner! The winner! Not the current champion. His belt wasn't given to anyone! He refused to hold it! Floyd got it last night!
