What exactly does Golovkin have to beat Mayweather?

Seriously, what does he have going for him that people actually give him the edge over the undisputed P4P #1? I asked a fuming butthurt Mayweather hater earlier tonight which departments Golovkin bests Mayweather in and his answer was rather unsatisfactory but maybe you could give it a try yourself:

    - Technique
    - Power
    - Accuracy
    - Defense
    - Head movement
    - Foot movement
    - Ring Generalship
    - Chin

I don't think anybody can claim with a straight face Golovkin beats him in anything but power and perhaps chin (which is still an unknown quantity on Money). Also, people seem to casually assume that Golovkin at 154 hits exactly as hard as at MW which doesn't sound overly likely.
But honestly, what does Golovkin have that other boxer who have failed against Mayweather didn't have that he's supposed to succeed so easily? Power? When was power ever a factor facing Mayweather? You think if Mosley or Canelo had hit even harder, they would've won their fights? The problem is that neither of them landed a single meaningful flush shot all night and PLEASE explain to me how Golovkin is gonna lay a glove on Mayweather when P4P boxers haven't been able to touch him once (think Marquez for example) for YEARS.

If this fight were to take place at 154, I'd be ****ing shocked if Mayweather lost a round let alone the entire fight. There's absolutely NOTHING that hints at a Golovkin win and the fact that people are dickriding a boxer who has a meaningless resume while slacking off a young champion who has names like Austin Trout on his resume and who was rightfully way ahead of Golovkin on the P4P rankings.

Not sure about beating Mayweather but I think he potentially could trouble Mayweather the most out of anyone today (in his weight range, kinda), including Pac. Not gonna happen though, the fight simply doesn't make sense for Floyd in any way.

Agreed, plus which Floyd could probably get a bigger payday right now if he were to fight Martinez. If he were gonna take on a full blown middleweight that makes more sense considering the risk factor.

  6. Punching power, ability to make so much pressure that Floyd is not able to make his show. First body shot or jab landing on Floyd will knock him out.

    Size advantage.
I don't think it's really a good idea for Floyd to move up to mw either

Golovkin is a very intelligent fighter, make no mistake. If you expect Mayweather vs Golovkin to look like Mayweather vs Canelo, you are mistaken. Floyd has proven enough, there's no reason to go for GGG.

Golovkin is a new face in the sport, he didn't defeat much big names, but his skill can't be questioned. There's no reason to instantly talk about Floyd vs GGG because Floyd defeated Canelo. The fight itself it probably never happen, and it shouldn't.

If it happened, I'd see it being unusual, with Floyd having difficulties to effectively hit Golovkin, while being constantly forced to back out. I definitely think Golovkin's punches hurting Mayweather in the body, thus slowing him down. Assuming Golovkin doesn't KO him, I'd bet on GG winning decisive UD. No small guy can defeat GGG, make no mistake about that. That's just my opinion.

I agree with you at 154 Floyd would beat GGG rather easily. I also like your analysis, at 160 GGG would be too much for Mayweather (assuming he can go his "normal" pace for 12 rounds).

He still wouldn't be able to land clean on Mayweather for the first rounds, but he is very good at cutting off the ring and Mayweathers legs aren't what they used to be anymore, he would get caught in exchanges.

Even if GGG hits mostly arms and shoulders in these exchanges, his punches would still take their toll, as he is physically much stronger and a strong and accurate puncher on top of that.

Over the course of 12 rounds Floyd would get broken down by the physically much stronger man, getting KO'd late. At 154 he would win a rather easy UD.

ggg has one punch knockout power in both hands.

if you are even in the remote bit comparing alvarez to ggg then you are about the dumbest canelo nuthugger here.

all the knowledegable guys here tried to tell nuthuggers that canelo is nothing special but you all wouldnt listen.

in two years, alvarez will be a contender at 154 and if forced to move to mw because he cant make weight he will be a gatekeeper at 160.

    5'7"

    short legs

    no one punch power

    limited punch output

    no

    just no
