Floyd haters: Isn't it about time to discuss him in the same breath as SRR?

Based on his hand picking of opponents ..His retirement and his part time fighting is the reason I could never put him in the same class as SRR ..

Its tough to watch a Ferrerari race Honda Accords night in and night out !

His skill are great same as SRR but the diffrence is SRR showcased those skills against guys that were as seasond as him and in their prime..The same cannot be said about Floyd ..

It's not that Floyd beats 'em, P; it's HOW he beats them...making them look no more than heavy bags. SRR won dramatically, (which fans loved) but many times had to go life 'n death to do it.

If you think having a great perfect record makes you the "best boxer" then you clearly no nothing about Boxing.

 

Mayweather's a great fighter, the best of this era, but I haven't seen him do anything at Welterweight or above that Sugar Ray Leonard or Thomas Hearns couldn't also do against his Welterweight and Junior Middleweight opposition.

You make a good point, though Robinson fought everybody worth fighting, often multiple times, and though naturally bigger, trying for the light heavyweight strap was a leap of faith Mayweather would never attempt.

Robinson cleared his divisions out. Floyd has proven the best of his generation, but such is his fight schedule that he is only capable of giving us stellar reminders rather than flattening the landscape. Harry Greb, Joe Louis and Ray Robinson achieved the latter, and that's why they rightfully are, and always will be, more revered.

If Pacquiao beats Rios in style and the pressure once again mounts, but Floyd is less cooperative...well, it's not going to look pretty in the rear view mirror.
