I always hear, that Duran fought Leonard Leonard fought Hagler Hagler fought Hearns. Duran fought Hagler. Benitez Yeah okay that's great. Who else? 4 people don't make up an entire resume. it gets on my nerves the way they discredit the fighters of today. that entire generation of boxers is overrated. 4 boxers don't make up an entire generation. There are more good fighters today, than there were then.
It gets on our nerves, how old legends are disrespected, and guys like Floyd are proclaimed as the GOAT. Ray Leonard's resume is 10 x better than Floyd's. Floyd swerved Manny, and would only fight Canelo at a CW. Lets suppose it's 1981 today. Would Floyd have been willing to fight Hearns, Leonard and Duran? No chance! Lets pretend, that he would have, for arguments sake. Would he have beaten them all? No chance! I don't want to be rude, but if you've got time on your hands, log off for a bit, and get on YouTube. Go and watch the Fab Four documentary, and find all the famous fights. Start with Leonard vs Hearns, and then tell us how you think Floyd would have gotten on. :good

You act like the sport of boxing just started a few years ago and/or us older guys never saw Floyd fight. We not only saw him fight, I've seen fighters going back to Ali, so I think I know what the hell I'm talking about.
welcome to the modern world of big $$$ anyone who thinks past greats wouldn't have their careers compromised in some way by calculating promoters, the fighters themselves and the governing bodies is absolutely dreaming the more $$$ that is involved, the more the playing field changes
Real talk the 80s were the golden age for me it was more than just THE 4 .Spinks,Sanchez,Jeff Chandler,Nelson,Eusebio Pedroza(very underrated )and so on.
A lot of us today still watch the great fights from that era. Do you think 20-30 years from now people are going to be watching Floyds fights? I like Floyd, he has mastered his style of boxing but he is not facing great fighters at the top of their game. I didn't think much of Canelo going into this fight and I still don't.
Guys like James Shuler would be world championship calibre fighters today. Tommy Hearns blew him out in one round flat.
