If your showcasing your skills against guys who are not it in your league or past their best how can anyone seriously think he can compete with guys who fought the best at their very best ! Sorry but if your padding your record it doesn't make you greater because you have done it longer ! The guys at the top are not ranked based on skill alone they are ranked based on who they fought and when they fought them !

Holmes greatness was never propelled by his 1 sided beat down of a shot Ali so why in hell does Floyd become a top 20 atg by what he's done thus far when he was never that high to begin with prior to his current crop of competition?

I'm sick of having this common sense debates when it comes to Floyd fans !

We all know what happen with the Pac fight so it's really no need to go there. Margarito would of lost and he would of been considered a hand picked opponent. Floyd fought a better Cotto then Pac did. At least he fought him during a win streak not a loosing streak. He didn't face Paul williams, but I have no doubt in my mind that these two would have met, if Paul unfortunate turn of events didn't take place. He should of fought Cotto at this time, he should of fought Martinez at this time, he should of fought the hulk before he turned back to Banner....lol. There are a lot of should of fights that didn't happen. Trinidad should of fought Mosley, Pryor should of fought Leonard, Pac should of fought Mayweather, and not turn the fight down because of a drug test. Almost everyone from this era that will be probably looked at as an ATG in his weight class he's fought, with the exception of Pac. I can guarantee you if he was to fight Chavez jr and Martinez he will still get back lash from haters no matter what. Before the Canelo fight people was saying Floyd would never take a fight like this. He's to scared he wouldn't dare. He takes the fight, school the dude and now Canelo is considered a hand picked opponent.....lol. You people really kill me. Your naming all of these fighters, Herns, Hagler, Leonard, Duran, and Benitez. Frazier, Foreman, Shaver, and Liston. All of these men were in the same weight class. Martinez, Chavez jr, and GGG are not 147lbs or 154lbs they are 160lbs. If he was to catch weight them he's getting back lashed by the public. Yet we all know his weight class is 147lbs, but haters wouldn't care about that. As long as he's out of his comfort zone and his opponent is not, that would be a fare match up to watch. Once more you people kill me.

Name at least three fighters in Floyd weight class that is a all around better fighter then he is, that he avoided. What's really crazy is people put Pac as ATG, yet Floyd is clearly a better fighter then he is, any unbiased person can see this. If Pac is considered and ATG Floyd damn sure is a ATG.

He's just not in the league of Leonard .I never said Floyd wasn't an all time great its just he's not top 20 or top 5 like some people like to claim same with Manny ..

He's definitely the most talented fighter I've seen since I started watching the sport around 25 years ago. The man is a perfectionist. He's defeated 19 world champs, over 17 years and 5 divisions, without taking a loss. He's been a p4p fighter for the past 15 years or so. His brain just works differently than other fighters.

Floyd's resume is weak. It is composed of carefully hand picked opponents. Floyd's fans like to overrate him.

And this argument kills me. It's the same old argument that Floyd wins all these matchups so there's no need to have the fights at all and he'll get hated on if he did make the fights so what's the point. And the same excuses for why Floyd doesn't have the names on his resume, trying constantly to turn everything around on Floyd's potential opponents rather than Floyd not making the fights in question. As to some of the rest, SRL and Hagler were not in the same weight class originally for one, and for another, weight class is not more important than skill and the level of the fighter involved, Floyd himself has proven that enough. And sure, you can't fight everybody(except for the rare exception like Ali), but the issue is you have to fight somebody. Again, SRL has Duran, Hearns, Benitez, and Hagler, so not fighting Pryor isn't exactly that big a deal. Floyd is an all-time great without a doubt and for me, he's top 35. But he has fought nobody to warrant placing him on the same level of the likes of Ali, SRL, etc.

this is definitely where a pacquiao fight 4 years ago would have been the absolute pinnacle and defining moment of both fighters' careers

But unfortunately Floyd was too much of a pu$$y to fight Pacquiao and had to make up a rumor that Pac was on PEDs to get out of a SuperFight with Pacquiao.

It sucks that Floyd was such a pu$$y 4 years ago when he could have stepped up and fought Pacquiao. Floyd blew it. Now Floyd isn't an all-time great, because he didn't step up like a man when he could have. He was too scared of Pacquiao and now that defines his legacy.

for someone who claims to be 'neutral', you sure cant wait to bury the hatchet into him

'scared', '*****', '*****s' - this is the language of a 15 year old virgin on these boards

I also seem to remember you saying you had quite a lot of life experience, or had been around a few decades, in one of your threads last time - yet you seem unable to escape pettiness and childish posts like this one

Yeah I am neutral. Floyd being a pu$$y and ducking Pacquiao is common knowledge. Even people who don't follow boxing know that. You don't have to be a Pacquiao fan to know that Floyd is a pu$$y and ducked Pacquiao.

you cant generalize and speak for other people collectively - you do that a lot
and the best people to determine if you are neutral is the people who react to your posts - not you. that applies to everybody

it seems your inability to see how blinkered your posts are, is because you're not willing to question yourself based on the overwhelming reaction you are getting on here

The overwhelming reaction I have got here is positive. I have made a lot of friends. Many people have come on here this week and has said things similar things I am saying, that it was a close fight, but Floyd slightly won. That's what I said. The only people who are negative are just a few rogue *****s who come in here attacking CJ Ross and anyone who didn't score it a shutout for Mayweather.

This is because they don't want you to say it was close, because then Mayweather would have to fight Canelo at 154 and that's not something Floyd wants to do. He's rather handpick his opponents and get easy money. That's the same reason why he wanted a catchweight. Because he's scared of Canelo. How can you not see this?
