Apparently, this was his stated intention after Menses - he'll be re-organised after his next I hope, should he need it. I agree he may be better off elsewhere (and arguably nowhere) but I don't think another fight will hurt. All good questions.
What are the rules for Champions? I think most people would be against that rule. Do any of these show discussions between the rankings comitee?
The rankings would lose credibilty if it turns out the charter members were not as involved as claimed.
There are no hard rules for champions. No, most people are from the "a title can only be lost in the ring" school of thinking. Rob, for that last time, you are NOT going to see the discussions, or hear the discussion, that take place between the members in deciding these rankings. The members list is a matter of public record, and if, for some bizarre reason you think only one or two guys are doing these rankings, you can approach the men you think we are lying about. http://www.tbrb.org/members/ Above is a link to the list of members. TBRB is as transparent as any other rankings board has ever been, possibly more so. What you are bizarrely and repeatedly asking for is not normal, expected, nor has it been raised by any other human being. It is a "concern" absolutely unique to you. What claims have been made??
Not having hard rules for champions opens the rankings up to bias. How can you not see this? Its a concern to me because I did exactly what you said and spoke to people on your comitee.
That bias has to get past a huge swathe of guys from a bunch of different continents. There is no rankings system on earth that is not "open to bias". If that's true, why do you keep pestering me? You have your answers. Twenty-one people were involved in this week's debate. No, I won't provide transcripts of emails, recorded telephone calls to prove this. Ask your secret source to confirm it.
A set of rules for the Champions is more than reasonable. You cannot claim to have the strictest championship rules but at the same time make them up as you go along. What I was told was very different I am afraid. Hopefully things have changed in recent months. Despite what you think I want your rankings to suceed. Infact if you were more transparent I would likley stop running fan rankings for the various websites & podcasts I run them for. The reason why people turned on the ring was lack of transparency.
You need to learn to read. I don't doubt they exist. I have been told my members of the comitee that they do not activley discuss the rankings on a regular basis.
So you are no longer confused: The rules for establishing a new linear title are extremely strict. The rules regarding a champion being stripped of his title are to be dealt with case by case. If what you have been told is different, you were lied to, are confused, were given confused information, or are making it up. As with everything else in this thread, you are mostly wrong about that.
Looks like the Heavyweight confusion is solved. Haye injured and sadly the Fury fight is off. So Povetkin moves up to #2 (where he should already be imo) and the fight with Wlad should create a new lineage. Sad way to solve this issue, but it can finally be put to rest.
Haye has no fight scheduled and hasn't fought since July 2012. Wlad is already the rightful lineal champ. Whether you agree with that or not, Wlad/Povetkin are the clear 1-2 without Vitali in the mix. So their fight should be for the lineal championship.
